Guess whos in the house?

Postby ScarabGator » Sat Jun 25, 2011 6:21 am

I AM MOTHERS!
No actually, I decided to contribute, and in a positive way... (right Andrew? )
So I finally broke down and dropped a ten spot on Eclipse, and no not that damn vampire flick with the chicks that need to be "Gatorized" before the winter comes, but the new Journey, at least Arnel's version. I will start by saying I wanted to hate this thing. I refused to buy it, I hoped it to fail. I didnt want to like it. BUT I guess the earth hit a particular place in its rotation because I actually like it. Not love it, yet but I like it. Its got some great tunes. Some serious rockers.
City of hope kicks ass. I dont care who did it, wrote it, sung it or plowed it it is a great tune.
Edge of the moment-listen to this one 2 or 3 times and its stuck. Dont give up after one time. Resonate is cool. Shes a mystery is a different tune, something about it is very likeable and I cant put my Gator claw on it.
A few others but I wont get into a big ass kissing thing.
Before someone pipes up and says this should be in the Journey forum let me say Bullshit. There are too many arnel suckasses down there.

I had no interest in going before to hear the dirty dozen once again but since this album came out and they are playing a few of the new tunes, I'm going to try to catch a show. Besides that, I'm also a long time fan of Foreigner and haven't seen them in concert before and I liked their last album also. Kelly and Arnel are both really good singers, imo.

I saw Foreigner on the Agent Provacateur Tour, 1986. Great show. They are a band I will concede though that Kelly Hansen has done a great job of carrying that torch right on. Miss Lou Gramm though.

Lou was great and Perry was great, but neither are in the bands anymore. I think Kelly and Arnel deserve praise because they both are bringing it.

You DO realize that pretty much the same people who reside "down there" are "up here" as well  . I mean, it's LITERALLY one left-click of the mouse to read what you had to say, lmao. It's not like the "Bitch and Moan" forum is an underground lair of encrypted messages. Other than that, glad you liked it Gator-man 8)

I know we'll take care of them, I'm more worried about them treating Pittsburgh right and playing like the animals they are. Steelers fans absolutley adore Pouncey. I Love Florida-bred players, they all seem to be WELL disciplined for NFL life. Gotta admire that. Pouncey is an absolute terror and it's good both him and Gilbert (who can be the next Flozell Adams) played together at one point. Pouncey can certainly teach him a lot since they know what each other's thinking. Was hoping we'd trade up to get the twin but it all worked out just fine. 8)

Man, I was REALLY hoping you guys would get Mike, but Gilbert is a beast. And the fact he and Mark are pals will certainly help! I find myself becoming a bigger and bigger Steeler fan, especially since one of my best friends here is a Steeler guy from Pennsylvania. Good luck on the upcoming year! Right now its the Steelers to lose. They are my pick to win it all.

Looking at the big picture, they sure do have a damn good chance. You guys just make sure you keep breeding monsters at Florida so we can draft them  If you're sold on being a Steelers fan, then I'd gladly send you a Terrible Towel, fresh out from Pittsburgh, free of charge! Just let me know when my man.

Just to set you straight on something, there sweetie, there was a Journey (named Journey) before Mr. P, and there
is a Journey after him. The band is the sum of the individual parts, not just all about one man. You still have 3
members from the heyday. That's Journey to me. You've been a bad girl. Go to my room!

Then I think you know where I'm going with this.
Change happens. If someone likes Gowan now are they being unfaithful to the original singer? I don't think so, I think we can like the original members of a band..and even have a preference for them and still give a listen to those who replace them. If you had not given Gowan an open minded fair listen, you would have missed out on finding someone who is now a favorite of yours. Also, if you like Gowan you can still like Perry as well, correct? :)

something a chance. I guess for some the whole world might as well have ended when SP left the band.

And when Mr P left for alot of us it did. That is why we call them unjourney. Also pround to be a card carrieing loon. :D

I'm not up on Styx trivia so I have to ask...
is Gowan an original member of the band?

No he took DDY'S place on the keyboard. He has been with them for 11 years now.

Then I think you know where I'm going with this.
Change happens. If someone likes Gowan now are they being unfaithful to the original singer? I don't think so, I think we can like the original members of a band..and even have a preference for them and still give a listen to those who replace them. If you had not given Gowan an open minded fair listen, you would had missed out on finding someone who is now a favorite of yours. Also, if you like Gowan you can still like Perry as well, correct?

I love "Gowan"he rocks big time.I am going to see Styx twice this year.If you are talking about the new guy in unjourney ?I have heard him and do not care for him at all.Now i did love JSS when he was in unjourney for a short time. And i will add i would have gone to see them with JSS. :D
