Lou was great and Perry was great, but neither are in the bands anymore. I think Kelly and Arnel deserve praise because they both are bringing it.

Kelly Hansen moreso than others..

Yep! Don't have the cd and never will no longer into unjourney. But hate to say it but Kelly really is good.

Loon talk, right there. I don't understand how people can decide what they like or don't like, having never given
something a chance. I guess for some the whole world might as well have ended when SP left the band.

And when Mr P left for alot of us it did. That is why we call them unjourney. Also pround to be a card carrieing loon. :D

I'm not up on Styx trivia so I have to ask...
is Gowan an original member of the band?

No he took DDY'S place on the keyboard. He has been with them for 11 years now.

Then I think you know where I'm going with this.
Change happens. If someone likes Gowan now are they being unfaithful to the original singer? I don't think so, I think we can like the original members of a band..and even have a preference for them and still give a listen to those who replace them. If you had not given Gowan an open minded fair listen, you would had missed out on finding someone who is now a favorite of yours. Also, if you like Gowan you can still like Perry as well, correct?

I love "Gowan"he rocks big time.I am going to see Styx twice this year.If you are talking about the new guy in unjourney ?I have heard him and do not care for him at all.Now i did love JSS when he was in unjourney for a short time. And i will add i would have gone to see them with JSS. :D

Hey, thats cool, if you gave Arnel a fair listen and don't like his voice..music is subjective. It's too bad that you wrote them off completely and won't even listen to any of the new songs, though. There is some good stuff on this album, that you may like. Or not. Hard to tell if the songs aren't heard. :)

Well, I have to say I don't love them. I don't know any of the band members personally and I can only grow to love someone if they are a personal friend of mine or someone I'm in a personal relationship with. I do love the music, though...not every song they've done through the years, of course, but many...and I admire all present and past members talent.

You DO realize that pretty much the same people who reside "down there" are "up here" as well  . I mean, it's LITERALLY one left-click of the mouse to read what you had to say, lmao. Other than that, glad you liked it Gator-man 8)

Thanks YJ! Yeah, I know those folks below are here too, but I feel at least Im not invading their turf!
BTW-you guys make sure and take care of my guy Marcus Gilbert this season (if there is a season...) We've now given you 2 bonafide stars-Pouncey and Gilbert.

I know we'll take care of them, I'm more worried about them treating Pittsburgh right and playing like the animals they are. Steelers fans absolutley adore Pouncey. I Love Florida-bred players, they all seem to be WELL disciplined for NFL life. Gotta admire that. Pouncey is an absolute terror and it's good both him and Gilbert played together at one point. Pouncey can certainly teach him a lot since they know what each other's thinking. Was hoping we'd trade up to get the twin but it all worked out just fine. 8) [/i]

Man, I was REALLY hoping you guys would get Mike, but Gilbert is a beast. And the fact he and Mark are pals will certainly help! I find myself becoming a bigger and bigger Steeler fan, especially since one of my best friends here is a Steeler guy from Pennsylvania. Good luck on the upcoming year! Right now its the Steelers to lose. They are my pick to win it all.

Looking at the big picture, they sure do have a damn good chance. You guys just make sure you keep breeding monsters at Florida so we can draft them  If you're sold on being a Steelers fan, then I'd gladly send you a Terrible Towel, fresh out from Pittsburgh, free of charge! Just let me know when my man.

That would be awesome!!!! I would happily pay for it though...

I am not an arnel fan and really dont like his voice live. I dont go out of my way for them anymore. In fact Eclipse is the 1st release I didnt have the morning it came out. I felt a bit weird about that but I lost the pepper for them.
Fast forwad to now and i finally pick it up while being dragged thru the fiery mouth of hell (wal mart) by my daughter who suddenly needed every beach item they-along with a few other stores-sell. You know, something about Hell-Mart but i can go in there in an awesome mood and within minutes i am honestly ready to kill someone. That little piece of shit yellow smiley face logo pisses me off. I have to get myself really motivated to go there.
Back to story....I saw the cd on a rack-poor things looked like they did the day they came out, didnt look like it had been disturbed much at all, so I said shit, its $10. If I dont like it I'll use it for skeet practice. Skeets do cost a lot more than this cd....

Oh sweetie, you thought I meant I've been putting off seeing them when they've been here.... that's just adorable! :P :P
When they come to PHX and Tucson this BayAreaBoy is all over it! This show is gonna be a little different than what I've become accustomed to though. This tour I bought a 4 pak of lawn tickets and the whole family is going! My daughters have known who Journey is their entire lives thanks to my appreciation and love for them. And since they've never seen the band live, and since it will be the last hurrah before my oldest moves out next month, (*sniff*) I decided not to do the VIP pkg. and instead make it a night to remember for my girls and ultimately for me.
In an earlier thread you mentioned your kids getting into and running off with your CD's....
They haven't ever done that but when they were younger we had a morning routine while everyone was getting ready for the day. One of us would load a playlist the four of us created and crank up the volume! One of their favorite songs to this day is I Stand Alone from the Quest for Camelot DVD. It's one of the stray songs that somehow got added to BIG playlist which takes a little over a week to repeat a song but for some strange reason it comes up more often than any other song - it's freaky! But no matter what they're doing (if they're home of course...) when that song comes on, they head to the living room and act out and sing that song. Corny right?!

Anyway, yeah, I haven't missed a show of theirs in..........  :P
