People thought it was cool back then. And that's all that mattered as Frontiers was selling very well.
Yep, agreed!
It was cool!! Love it still today ...it's a classic!!

Classic in the same way Styx's "Mr. Roboto" was. BOTH were incredibly bad videos.
The best thing about the Separate Ways one was what Beavis and Butthead did with it. Hilarious.
Great song. Terrible video.
You've got the attitude of a mental patient on suicide watch ...
Yes, because I don't subscribe to the fact that SP could do no wrong and that everything Journey did with him was 'classic' that makes me nuts. mmm okay.
Oh, heavens no, not my style ...it's YOURS and a couple of others!!
For every loon who comes in here and badmouths the current lineup ...there's one of you GOONS!!
It's always a race to see who can badmouth the others fav lineup first ...You WON ~
I've NEVER said "loon" in this forum. Not once (but wow, the definition sure fits you). I also don't think I make too many personal attacks on folks either-unless provoked. But jesus, you just absolutely can't stand it if I don't agree with you. Whatever. I don't. "Separate Ways" WAS a shitty, low budget video. Journey has said that too. That's my opinion. Your opinion is that it was better than Titanic. So we disagree, so what?
Look MG, sorry that my "fan boi-ness" of the current band is driving you nuts. From most of what I hear, the "new guy" is super talented and he takes a lotta crap here- a lot of it which is pretty unfair not to mention erroneous. He's also been extremely cool to Journey fans, even those who have dumped on him. As for Perry, the guy was amazing. DUH. But to me, a lot of the stuff he did to his band really took the shine off the crown and just screams ahole. Granted, he was responsible for most of their success. I've never said anything different. I was the biggest Perry fan there was. But with all that's come out and his actions towards his fans today has just made me realize that he's kind of an ass. So is Neal. So is Cain, etc. I've never said Neal was "the man". I'm not huge Neal Schon fan though I love his band. In fact, out of all of em, Arnel and Augeri have pretty much been the classiest ones of the bunch just by how they relate to their fans. At least they DO relate to their fans unlike Perry who just sits and leads his fans on and whines about his days with Journey. But to throw so much crap at the current lineup and their current voice without also pointing out the flaws of the former monarchy is just being biased. Hey, if you don't like their new record, who gives a crap? But, while people are saying how much they like it, here you come with "it's just not as good as... " whatever. There's no difference there in that if people are going on about the Separate Ways video that I can't say "Um, actually, it sucked".
Whatever.
