There's no easy fix. :? Time is the only way.

But a bottle of 16 year old single malt might make it go by faster. And blurrier. :?

Find something to do to keep yourself busy. Don't sit around feeling miserable by yourself because it'll just make it worse. If you have a hobby, now is the time to enjoy it. Also get some friends to hang out, and it'll go by much easier. If none of that works, go to the nearest bar, tie one on, and hit on every woman in there!

Take it slow. Some people like to go out and immediately "re-invent" themselves, but soon realize that they're still the same fucking person they've always been! One thing that's a great idea is to write down goals and start slowly knocking them down one at a time. The other thing is hang around happy people. Cut the dead weight from your life and abandon the slackers. Hang around people that will tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. Lastly, get out and do things, stay in shape, eat well, focus that hurt into motivation and show that kunt what she's missing!

PS If you're gay, just go out and suck a random dick.

Bad advice. Why would anyone think a central nervous system depressant is going to pull them out of a slump?
It will just make matters worse.

Time really is what it takes. If someone hurt you, forgiveness, letting go, saying goodbye, even if the person doesn't know you've let go and said goodbye, are healing too, but time is what it takes to reach those too. Focus on the people who do truly care about you, and focus on the good around you. In death, the same, time is what it takes, and focus on all the good you had with that person, and do so with the people around you who shared the same.

Music, put on something hard and heavy and rock out. It always puts me in a better mood.

Thanks for the advice people, you guys rock. In the end it comes down to whatever I figure out works best for me.

Although, I wish I could delete this post now -- just something foolish of me to post publicly, although I guess I was really curious to see what ideas people had.

Don't feel bad man. I've used this place to vent many times. Granted I looked like an asshole some of the times, but it's all good. You haven't offended anyone here.

Hey, man, whatever you were feeling at the time was very real to you. You sought out the advice of friends, so don't feel weird about it.
Hope all looks up for ya! :D

This is actually my #1 approach, too. And he's right about the heavy - allows you to vent a lot of pain and frustration thru the music.

Not at all, sometimes you just need to let things out, especially with this kind of stuff and we all get it, no one is a stranger to this kind of thing. But, and I can't stress this enough, everything happens the way it does and at the time is does for a reason. I'm struggling with that one as I type and my life would be a whole lot less complicated at the current moment if I knew what that reason was, but we're not always meant to know right away.

It's a cliche but it is better to have loved then to never have loved at all. Love is both joy and pain and you have to feel both...so cry and then get busy. Go for a run or some other physical activity when you feel like you're getting down in the dumps and if you feel any anger towards the person then take all of that energy and direct it for your own betterment. What doesn't kill you let it serve to make you stronger.

I don't agree with some suggestions here. Booze or drugs will only take you down further. Maybe some angry loud music like suggested will help work out some frustration momentarily but I think something more positve works better in the long run to motivate forward movement.

People will always come and go from your life. Learn from both the positive and negative experiences. Concentrate on self improvement.
