Me and My Upcoming CD

Postby Jeremey » Mon Jul 18, 2011 2:24 am

Hey everyone,

Been taking a break from this site, and not much time for anything anymore. I appreciate the well wishes and I hope to get back up and running soon.

In the meantime I've been working on my CD for the past 6 months. I realize a lot of you all are on Facebook with me, but there's a lot of lurkers and some old friends here that I haven't been in touch with so I wanted to share the news of the CD with you all here.

The CD is called "Every Little Thing" and aside from a few similarities, musically it's not in a style of Journey. More of a pop singer/songwriter vein, but if you are a fan of good music I hope you will check it out. Eric Ragno is playing keys on several of the songs, and it's being mixed by Vic Rivera. Due to my schedule and my voice injury I'm having to push back the release until October, but the first single "This Is Your Life" is available now.

I've just posted an acoustic remix of the second single, "Stay" on my Soundcloud page. The music business has changed for better and for worse in the past 3-4 years, and I don't want to isolate any opportunities to share this music as it's been a ton of work, and it's something everyone involved in is pretty excited about.

So if you are on Facebook, please check out my fan page and "Like" to stay up to date with things (the link is in my sig)

Also, here is the link to the acoustic mix of "Stay." Check it out and I hope you like it. It features Eric on piano & keys and myself on guitar, bass, etc.

Thanks again & hope to see everyone on the road sometime soon....

I like it. The drums are pretty bland and lackluster, but overall I think you guys did a great job on it. The vocals get a little pitchy in a few places, but not bad at all. I think it's the best song you've done. Congrats!

I didn't find your vocals pitchy at all, Jeremey. Loved both songs, This Is Your Life and Stay; though, the instruments a few places could be a little sharper or fuller or something. I'm not a musician to explain what I mean. Really good songwriting and vocals and melody, Jeremey. Color me impressed. Although, to me, your Journey background story on your JeremeyFrederick site sounds almost too bitter and hanging on to the bitterness and way too detailed, almost overshadowing promoting your new music, but it is your story to tell from your viewpoint the way you want to on your site. It was just the way I saw it; maybe not anyone else reading it. Anyway, back to the album. I would buy it. I really liked what I heard and loved your vocal delivery of the songs. And your video is good. :D

Thanks Jana!

Glad you like the tunes. I'm hoping I am able to finish the CD by October. The songs are all written all recorded except for 4 songs that still need the vocal tracks....At this point it's a financial issue with the recent cancelation, and having the time to record the 4 remaining songs when I get the right vocal rest. I understand your thoughts on the Journey story. Was a good bit of background as to why I wrote that and posted it and when I did...But not relavant to anything here...So it is what it is, LOL....Regardless I'm glad you like the tracks and hope you follow it's progress on FB or the website!

I've always been a fan of your vocals, if not your blatthering on about other "stuff."You have probably dodged a bullet by some of the decisions that you have made so I'd go with the saying that "Whatever Is, Is Right" and not look back.

I will certainly buy your c.d. as I love the Perrylike quality in your voice. It may be as close as I will get to the real thing,

Been keeping up with your progress through Facebook Jeremey. I think you're doing a fine job with your recording of this new CD. You know I will be buying it and hope to hit ya up for a signature on it the next time Frontiers is in town. How's the injury? I hope you're healing up quickly.

Great stuff. I especially like Stay. I felt a little bit of Martha Davis of the Motels in that one.
Would love to see you do something with Jon Cain. I think you guys have the same kind of sensibilities when you write and could really craft a winner together.
Enjoyed Lotus also but haven't warmed to This Is Your life yet.

Jeremey, I've only listened to Stay thus far, I don't know where to begin ...
the vox take over, for me, if they're good enough to pull me in ...I love it!!
The song itself is beautiful, lyrics and melody.
I do pick up on the Perry/Cookeisms, the breathy desperation/emotion,
but w/your voice ...just incredible. I would ask you to stay!!
Can't wait to hear more ...love, love, love this!!

Jeremey! Wow! Listening to Stay it's like I've never heard you sing before. The truth is I've heard you back in the Perryville days which must have been at least 10 years ago and this one seems to be the most honest, really beautiful and truly your own voice and song! Take care of your voice and hope to hear more from you!! Great work!

Thanks everyone! Really glad you checked it out but especially happy that you've all enjoyed it. Keep in mind, this is an acoustic mix of the song that's actually more pop/rock sounding (the version on the CD)....I mixed this one myself as Vic is mixing the CD as a whole, which hopefully explains the production versus "This Is Your Life" (which was mixed by Vic and mastered by the people at Gateway, one of the most renowned/most expensive (!) mastering houses in the world. Gateway will NOT be mastering the whole CD, as their quote was about $3800 as a baseline, LOL.

Thanks again & be sure to stay up to date on the FB page!
