Honestly, I'm surprised she made it this long.

So sad, but no surprise. It was just a matter of when. Heroin is a tough drug to kick I've read. She was such a talent and unique. Back to Black is a fantastic album.

I don't know - watch her interview with Leno (I'm sure it's on YT somewhere) from a couple of months ago - it really seems like she's turned it around. I don't know what, if anything, has happened since then - but she was very together in that interview.

My friend Linda and I were talking last night about great musical voices lost either to drugs or sheer over use, Whitney Houston, Steve Perry (over use camp) and now Amy Winehouse (suspected drug overdose).

I, for one, have no sympathy for addicts. None. Be it alcoholics, drug users, porn perverts...etc. While it is sad, leaving her family wondering and mourning, I'm not sad for Amy. In the end, the means were justified.

Too many good and hurting people in the world today who were never "givethed" in the first place for me to believe that. Chalk this one up to personal, willful, and knowledgeable stupidity.

Still a shame - she was reputed to be quite a talent for the brief time she used it professionally.

I just found the article about her ex husband and his new girlfriend supposedly harrassing her.... Date July 18th. She had to change her cell number because he had supposedly been harrasing her from prison.

Based on her appearance in the last month she must have relapsed. According to this article, she was clean just a couple of months ago.

RIP Amy,

I feel very sad for her family. It must have been hell for them to watch her kill herself this way. :(

I'd like to believe there isn't a hell, but I have seen too much crap going on in my short time on this earth to believe otherwise. I don't know what her relationship was with God, so I am not going to judge it. I hope she is in heaven because once you're in hell it is too late.

So you believe in hell? I kinda liked Amy. Sang a good song, never hurt anyone other than herself. Let's hope she found the light eh?
