Fresh air and movement. Seriously, find somewhere to do some sweat producing walking/exercising. I suggest no music... listening in on the sounds around you - focusing on the sights and getting the blood pumping is the natural way to ease the tensions that too much thinking brings.

I agree, music helps a lot. I would be toast without Sirius, Pandora, my iPod or my CDs.

Kinda depends - I find if I'm playing things over and over in my mind, I need something to distract me. Dancing in a club, preferably with a live band, is pretty good for that - not so easy to do at 2 in the afternoon, though. Sports game with some friends, something that involves lots of running about, also helps. And it's amazing how theraputic going out and violently murdering weeds is. Hack and slash the fuckers!

If it's more like work is a shit, things are piling up and you're just feeling stressed and overworked/overwhelmed, something quiet is good. Excercise can still be really good, but that's when I'd go for the quiet walk in the local park, no music just listening to the world, or go swimming, or something similar. I've also found just sitting somewhere comfortable with a glass of something, sipping slowly and slowly stretching every muscle one after the other is really good. Getting a massage is even better.

Hope you're ok, and whatever is bugging you buggers off quickly.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Have you thought of taking Jesus Christ as your savior?

What the hell, I figured if we had two threads that are now about religion, we could go for three. :D

No offense to anyone, I actually enjoy the debate.

Climb into a box and see how long you can hold your breath.

Seriously dude, getting shrink advice on a dysfunctional music forum might not be the best idea.

If you choose to end your massage with a happy ending for more relief, that's entirely your choice, yulog - although now I'm looking at your avatar and thinking 'so is yulog gonna get a happy ending from that masseuse?

I just bought a ticket for the Darien Lake show, a night of good music should help quite a bit.

I cribbed that line from "Major League". Great movie.
