Hansen doesn't have Gramm's range, but he sounds charismatic as hell. I'd give him a solid 8/10 from what I hear.

Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

neither does Gramm these days. What I always find amazing is how much lower Hansen is singing compared to what he was doing even a year or two before joining Foreigner. Keep expecting him to be an octave higher. Just wish they would play some of the Can't Slow Down cd, which I was rather impressed with.

He's in his late 40s right? He's got a strong voice and seems pretty intelligent about using it.

SA is about the same age, so it's a startling contrast to see how well Kelly's maintained his voice.

covering Lou Gramm is also a considerably easier job than covering Perry. Gramm is more like Frontiers or ROR era Perry. Problem is all those Escape tracks that Journey is stuck with. Combine that with the fact that I always thought Augeri was singing higher than he should to cover Perry gave him very little room on the days when the voice decided it didn't want to go that high. Push through one night, and it just compounds itself and you are in a mess. It was only a matter of time, especially since you tend to lose a little range as you age.

Sounds pretty decent with Bose earphones. This is a real treat! I hope someone is recording it! Luv to listen to in the car while on the road everyday!

I'm streaming the show off of the station's website. Caught the last half of Foreigner, waiting for Journey. I get to hear one show tonight and see another next week!

I'm going to try, but the caveat is that there are some severe storms heading this way which may affect important things like power. Signing off...

Arnel is toast. :(
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I wish Arnel would quit elongating words in the songs. It kind of throws the whole thing out of whack to me.

If SW is any indication, the sound seems fine for Journey. I can hear the drums, guitar, and even the synthesizers. Arnel doesn't sound quite as crisp as I'd have hoped.

To clarify, Arnel's hitting the notes fine, but you can tell that it's requiring effort. He's still got Hansen beat on range by quite a bit.

You are right Rick! I have see him twice and he was awesome! Sad to see this happening this year but I guess it was only a matter of time. :( Seperate Ways he normally shines on and it sucked and he is winded as hell!

Nah, he hit the money shot notes at the end of SW pretty damn well.
