Tokyo '81 Pro Shot DVD Upgrade Torrent on TTD!

Postby rockphantom » Sat Aug 06, 2011 9:54 am

Howdy Folks,

I've just started seeding a DVD upgrade of the classic Journey July 31st, 1981 Tokyo, Japan concert on The Trader's Den.

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/sho ... ?p=1640678

Enjoy!

Milan

In this torrent is the Sullyland "remastered" DVD of the classic Journey - July 31st, 1981 pro-shot "Escape Tour" performance in Tokyo, Japan.

The Sullyland Tokyo '81 DVD features a remastered audio track, as well as proper chapter points and an interactive menu.

This edition is superior to the more common "stand alone" Tokyo '81 disc.

However, the San Francisco '91 bonus tracks on the "stand alone" disc, (Lights and Faithfully) are not included.

This is the possibly the best single layer version of Journey's Tokyo '81 pro shot performance in circulation.

DVD Author: Sullyland
Video Source: Low Gen VHS
File size: 3.40GB
Total Length: 97 minutes

Authored DVD with menu and chapter points.

G-Spot Information:
Video Information: NTSC 4:3/720X480 29.97 fps/System Bitrate 6500kb/s VBR

Audio Information:
1. Remastered Audio 256kbps Dolby Digital 2.0
2. Original VHS Audio 256kbps Dolby Digital 2.0

LINEAGE:Low Gen VHS > Standalone?? > Unknown Software to Edit > Author: Sullyland > DVD > Downloaded RAR FILE -> extraction of VIDEO_TS folder -> This torrent.

Seeded by Rockphantom on The Trader's Den on August 5th, 2011

Requests:
1.Journey - Escape Tour in Tokyo '81 (Snivlle Remastered Edition) Dual Layer DVD.

This Dual Layer DVD was originally torrented in 2007 and is hard to find.
More info on this release can be found here: http://www.jamtothis.com/showthread.php?t=13348

2. A LOSSLESS FM capture of the August 3rd, 2011 Journey/Foreigner performances in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Webstream captures of this gig are NOT Needed!

3. Any Rubicon Reproduction Journey/Steve Perry releases which have yet to be torrented.

So...what's the benefit of the "Dual Layer" version - better video source?

According to the notes included with the original 2007 torrent. The Dual Layer version was a quasi-pro remaster of the stand alone DVD that everyone has. Video is supposed to be cleaner and audio more powerful.

The DVD I am torrenting has better audio than the original stand alone disc it was sourced from.
However, I have no idea how it compares to the Dual Layer edition.

This is the possibly the best single layer version of Journey's Tokyo '81 pro shot performance in circulation.

NOPE I have the Beta Cam Masters straight from NHK Japan so there is one better version and I have it, Some day I will give it the HD treatment in 5.1

Talk is cheap Froy. I collect bootlegs more than almost anyone and hear these "I have the masters talk" all the time.

Leak 10 seconds of it and PROVE it or shut your hole.

Doesn't mean I don't believe you either, but if you are going to post that = PROVE IT.

Seeing as Sony edited clips from that show as promo and provided the DSB video to MTV a week after the concert, wouldn't they in all likelyhood have the masters?

I have around 4 different versions of this, the best one being a 'Showtime' release from a few years back, which was actually sold in stores. It's real cool quality and the audio seems to also be remastered compared to previous versions of the dvd.
I doubt very much whether this version on traders is any better tbh.

WykkedSensation,

Could you please torrent the "Showtime" edition of the Tokyo 81 gig?
It's an unofficial product and would be able to be shared on TTD, DIME, or Jam To This.

If you are unable to torrent, I'd be willing to torrent the disc for you if you would be willing to send me a DVDR copy. :D

Thanks!

Your doubting me? Ok big guy care to bet some cash on this one? How about a grand ?
If I don't prove it I send you a check. Care to wager?
Look up Beta Cam you will see its the best quality prior to digital tape,
I got these from NHK back in 94 95 and Im sure the best copies you are seeing came from the tapes I sold back in 96 or when ever.
I will prove it when you put some cash up.

Read my post. Didn't even say you didn't have it. You just sound like a child.

"I have something you don't have, nah, nah, nah, nah, hah".

Share the wealth or shut up. In bootleg etiquette, if you have a master copy and don't want to share it then keep it to yourself and stop being a little bitch. That's what I'm saying.

Here is the deal and what I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rockphantom offers a possible upgrade to a popular show.

If I were Froy this is my reply.

"Thanks man, lets compare because I might have something better"

Froy then instead challenges me and wants $1000 from me to prove what he has. (Memo Froy - I have a nice copy and you sound like a tape hoarder posting that who wants to be paid for an artists' work you do not own)

In the end, the original poster should be thanked for offering help upgrade a show many fans would be interested in.

I've seen this behavior before...a friend I grew up with is super protective of some home videos he made with some friends (some actually pretty funny)...he's had the masters for sometime, but hasn't let them out with others who also made the videos ...the damn tapes are just sitting around, decaying because the dumb sob hadn't bothered to convert them digitally...

No interest in sharing it at this time. Its not sharable ,To much studio time involved just to share it,
When I get it in HD and 5.1 you will see it somewhere, On Blue Ray, That's it,

It isnt worth the trouble. I could care less what show it was. There are tons of good bootlegs easily available. I have enough good studio and mastering gear that if I dont like the sound i can improve on it to my liking. I have enough Journey to listen to and watch until I am puking from overexposure. Let em hoard if they want. I dont give a damn really.
