SP's 2009 B/G Vocals?

Postby Michael Leigh » Fri Aug 05, 2011 7:11 am

Hey Loons
I just read an article online that says SP did BGV's for a song by Street Sweeper Social Club called Promenade.
Here is the article~ http://www.presstelegram.com/lifestyle/ci_18608442
Did this slip past us all? I wouldn't really call them BGV's but more like "Ohhhs".
Here's the tune~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiFU8GOeIg8

Can anyone confirm it's SP? Lora? Cyndy? Andrew?

I didn't even hear any backing vox. :? Just some underwhelming "ewwww's" that were too generic to be identifiable.

Maybe all of these background vocals aren't really Steve at all. Maybe he has been replaced by a PERRY ROBOT, and the real STEVE is being held hostage by crazy cat lady loons.

Steve Perry: A Rare Journey

http://www.b1027.com/music/rock-report/ ... urney.html

Journey's reclusive former vocalist Steve Perry will make a rare guest appearance on the upcoming solo album by ex-Antigone Rising singer Cassidy. Follow the Freedom, which is due out this fall, not only features Perry on its title track, but he was involved in mixing the album, as well.

Perry's last guest appearance was a backing vocal on Street Sweeper Social Club's self-titled 2009 album. In 2005, he got production, arranger and vocal credits on ex-Ambrosia singer David Pack's The Secret of Movin' On album. Perry's last solo release was 1994's For the Love of Strange Medicine.

In 2007, SP collaborated on a remake of ICSIIYE... (not mentioned in the above article)

Here's the David Pack song:

at 3:22 you can hear Perry clearly.

Not to mention the fact that the song was a steaming pile of dogshit.
