Scarygirl, sounds like your cat died more of shock. My mom's cat had a gaping hole in her and we could not catch her while it was healing. It lives outdoors. Amazingly enough she recovered with no stitches. This cat had more bad luck than most. It finally got run over by a car. My point is, you never know how one cat is going to react to an injury vs another. They are such unusual creatures.

Sounds like to me your cat had a loving owner that gave it a wonderful life. Cats can get into strange predicaments. Know for one you have friends here who care about your grieving, and know we understand your heartache.

I talked to her on the phone this past Sunday. She confirmed her phone had been cut off. Presumably becuase she couldn't pay the bill. She is having to borrow money from her daughter to get back home. :? I asked her again if anything unusual happened that day. She said no. I asked if Mya and Toni got into a fight. Again no. Mya spent the day with her and her grandson in her room. Toni hid out. Smart cat... :D .She said if she hadn't been brushing Mya she wouldnt have seen the cut.. I have now discounted my theory about him being cut during grooming. Instead I think it happened with my broken radio.... They had been listening to it that day, the same day Mya's cut ws discovered.. They also listened to my radio in her room that night.. Friday morning I found the radio in her room on its side with the antenna broken off. Since I heard it playing Thursday evening I thougt the antenna had to been broken later that nigt after the cut...My assumption was a broken radio won't play... After talking with a friend I realized I was wrong. The radio in fact works perfectly. I now think my radio was broken sometime Thursday and the grandson was playing with the long broken off end of antenna and accidentally cut Mya. I can;t prove it, but it makes sense.

How long was she actually living there after moving in before going out of town? And she doesn't have money for her phone or even for a return trip home? This sounds so strange. How will she pay rent?

She moved in Wednesday night. And left for her trip Friday two weeks ago. It was my understanding she would be back yesterday. It is now Saturday. If she doesn't pay her rent I will have to evict her.

After giving this much thought the cat got the cut one of two ways, a. the kid was playing with broken long end and cut Mya or b. Mya rubbed up against the little piece that was left on the radio. I think it was an accident. Thanks for your concern. My real concern for my Toni girl. I am setting some hard house rules. Mainly, no over nigt visitors. I feel it is a liability issue for me. No messing with private property. No grooming of my cat. I would love to just tell her to leave. I don't think it is that simple though. I am concerned on a number of levels. For Toni, for my house, and worried she won't be paying the rent come Sept 3rd. I will be giving her notice 45 days before the end of the lease.... Pray nothing else happens.... I lost my Mya within a day of her moving in. I miss him like crazy. I am glad to still have Toni girl and I'd like to keep it that way. :D
