She's running her clinic over at Arnelpinedarocks.com with steveo777, RocknRoll and artist4perry. It's a regular gringo convention over there at times.

Really?!? I was wondering where she's been.

Kevin Dubrow gone,Jani Lane gone,Robin Crosby gone,Bret Michaels had a near fatal mishap,Slash now has a pacemaker,Steven Adler has had numerous strokes,Eric Brittenham has had a stroke or two,and the list probably goes on.Thing is these eighties rockers think they can drink,do blow, stay up four days like they did back in the eighties but when you get in your forties and fifties you can't survive doing that.

I did see her give an opinion concerning Andrew to Arnel in the shoutbox. To her credit she didn't go on a diatribe, she just in so many words let Arnel know that she wasn't a fan of Mr. McNeice..

Which is absolutely confounding. She's not a fan of Andrew's, who's never spoken an ill word about Arnel, and in fact pretty much only glowing praise of the man. I guess they think since negative things are said toward Arnel on Andrew's board, that is his opinion?

The news of his passing was very sad...I was a fan.

I thought that Sebastian Bach's reaction was very fitting.

I was sad to hear about Jani. I was a senior in high school when "Down Boys" hit. I was not a musician myself yet, but I could hear the killer hooks just flowing out of that song (even though I was too ashamed at the time to admist to liking it...I was more Metal Church and Queensryche).

I still contend that "I Saw Red" and "Blind Faith" are two of the best rock ballads anyone has ever written...and the dude had a brilliant voice.

RIP Jani

"I Saw Red" is a masterpiece. Talk about a powerful song, full of emotion. As many have said before, it's too bad that Jani will be remembered for "Cherry Pie" instead of "I Saw Red" and "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

True, he had better songs...but he wrote a song that millions of people know and love...relatively very few people can say that.

Shame Warrant and Jani got judged on three things. The first was being lumped into the hair band label.Second was they were given a lot of flack for Cherry Pie that it turned into Jani literally hating that song and it also became known as their most popular tune and it was like a joke song almost.Of course the third thing being when alternative rock hit and all the bands like Warrant sort of died a quick death especially in regards to record sales and live shows. In 1990 they were playing arenas and stadiums but after grunge by the mid 90's instead of selling three million albums they sold a 10th of that or around 300,000 records and instead of full arenas they weren't even selling out small clubs.Of course Jani ended up hating Cherry Pie and he was a damn good songwriter and he wanted himself and the band to be taken more seriously but after grunge hit they sort of got forgotten.Songs like Uncle Tom's Cabin,Blind Faith and The Bitter Pill were excellent tunes and the album Machine Gun in '92 was a pretty good hard album but could not compete with the new grunge stuff that took over the airwaves.Saw Skid Row in a crowded arena myself back in '92 but three years later i saw them again in a small bar in '95 which wasn't their fault but everything was alternative by then and radio and MTV basically ignored hard rock.

Threw Dog Eat Dog in on my way to work this a.m., and yeah it sucks people have no clue what a heavy and great band Warrant could be with Jani. The Bitter Pill, Let It Rain, All My Bridges Are Burning, Hollywood, Machine Gun, etc., great songs. And Cherry Pie has great stuff when people bother to get past the title track. Uncle Tom's Cabin is brilliant, and was supposed to be the name of that album, not Cherry Pie. Mr. Rainmaker is awesome, was great live, heavier than on the album. Blind Faith, brilliant ballad just like Let It Rain.

He always seemed to have a great sense of humor too. Always got a huge laugh out of Ode To Tipper Gore, lol.

I had the honor of getting to know Jani over the years. He has some family in the area where I live, as well as working with one of his relatives. I also shared a very cool birthday evening (mine) with him and a few others several years back. I've seen him sober, and he was the nicest guy you'd ever meet. I've also seen him drunk, and it was scary and sad.

I don't know if he took his own life or not. Some would say he was slowly committing suicide over the years - maybe. I do know he leaves behind family, friends, and fans - all of whom were touched by him and his talents. I hope that his battle with his personal demons is now finally over, and may he truly rest in peace.

IMO, there's no ballad like Let it Rain, maybe I Saw Red comes close...
