Someone mentioned SP's character on another site. Well, once you take off the rose colored glasses, it's easy to see that many other members of Journey have shit stains on their jeans besides Perry.

None of us truly know what goes on behind the scenes.

I thought that was quite neat that Steve and Arnel had a picture taken together.

Of course it was but now will come the cries of why won't Perry do something like that. And again, I say why? Why does Journey 2.0 need that moment to happen? If it didn't happen during Augeri's tenure why would it NEED to happen now?

this is journey 4.0... ;-) at least...

When it comes to a Journey that has had at least some success, it's Journey 2.0.
A platinum album, DVD and now, a third Top 30 A/C hit makes it so.

Don, did you just say something nice about this lineup? You better get out the thermometer. I'll let you guess where you can stick it.

Again, it's still bewildering that they're playing La Do Da. Another colossal missed chance to help stimulate sales. :?

I have to give props where they are due. Now, I still feel there is quite a chasm between what is and what was as far as success goes but the numbers don't lie and Journey hasn't seen this type of financial and artistic success since 1986.

Seriously, I'm glad to see that there's still good relations between Steve and the band (and apparently good relations between him and Arnel ;))

And apparently Arnel wants the band to start playing more material from the Arrival album? I'd love that! There's at least two videos of the current lineup playing Higher Place from the Revelation Tour and I'd love to see Arnel's take on some of the other tracks off that album! ;)

I'm positive you meant "guest" pass and not "guess" pass. Nevertheless, I sat here for 10 minutes trying to come up with some sort of smartass remark that incorporated "Guess" jeans, The Gap, and the pass he's wearing around his neck. For some reason, I couldn't come up with a damn thing!

I was just fucking with you. We're in agreement, but I still can't fathom being so disconnected from reality or so indifferent that you don't play a currently charting single in concert. Especially when the album is all but flat-lining. And it seems like a vocally-friendly song. :? You have any idea why they're not playing it?

I don't think it really sounds like anything they doing right now. It reminds me a lot of The Party's Over. Maybe it's got too much of a pop vibe and with all the ballads they have to do anyway, Neal might feel it's just another song that takes away from the rocking image he is trying to associate Journey with.
Maybe there will be a subliminal "I told you so" from Shirley and even Cain that Neal doesn't want to hear.
In other words, I don't have any idea.

Yeah, but I don't see it as any softer than City Of Hope. So I'm not sure what the problem is with playing it. Additionally, wouldn't you have to release a song for it to chart (especially an AOR band)? Surely (not Kevin), they know it's been released ... and is charting, so why not back it up in attempt to stimulate sales? :? Just mind-boggling. That fucker better be in the set by September 28th!

Doesn't NEED to happen, but it would be way cool if it did. It's very classy of Augeri to come out, give kudos to Arnel on FB, have his photo taken with Arnel and just be a cool guy without any grudges. He didn't have to do any of that. He could've sat home and pouted about it for the rest of his life. Very cool that he didn't. Class "all the way".

Gregg and Ross definitely have that emotive, husky, sexy, smokey, soulful quality to their voices, don't they?

Short broken video posted on Twitter by Arnel's team:

Apparently it was taken by Arnel's wife.

btw...Stevie A's pass must be All Access since he is in Arnel's dressing room.

Learn to take care of yourself, is what Augeri said I think. Nice doesn't begin to cover it.

Current Journey get along with everyone except 1 person and maybe 2...if he counts. There was only 1 prick ever in the band and they haven't been in the band for at least 15 years.

Yep, he said he wants Arnel to be himself. He said "I didn't learn to take care of myself, but I did learn to BE myself." That 45-second clip is one of the coolest things related to this band I have seen in quite some time. That is just TREMENDOUS. Absolutely awesome.

Lotsa questions here...
Was SA invited by the band, or an individual member?
Were managers involved to make this happen?
Does SA have any credentials with his legacy? In other words, did he just show-up, and was recognized as a Journey family member?
Were there any surprises? I mean, could you imagine the look on Neal's face to look over and see him there?

Ya know, kinda like Rolie's appearance in Austin, it was planned. Was this known by the band? Was there any offer to sing? (Probably not.)

And no, I don't think that Augeri would get onstage and sing. He is such a great guy, that he wouldn't ask for or accept any spotlight. IMO, it's not about sharing a stage with AP, it's the fact that he can't sing like him...which is what the current tour is all about. So, there's gotta be professional courtesy there.

Anyha, often, not making a splash makes an even bigger splash. Kudos to Mr. SA. Like others have implied, I only wish that other former lead singers could have the courage to do this also.

And I guess, most of us will never know the true extent of the "Journey family", but I think that 'partner' still applies when published work is involved. Yeah, from a soundtrack thru two albums, and a DVD, not to mention physical damage while on active duty, SA probably still gets some sort of paycheck...and he should, at least in part, for a long time.

It'd be cool to see some video, or stills, of him offstage as the band plays. It'd be even way cooler, to see some current pics of him & the band hanging-out, or doing some group shots.

Steve A. really showed what a great guy he is there. Just pure class. I'm sure Arnel appreciated that moment and it was something really special, a
memory that will last a lifetime. The only thing I can think of that would top that would be if Mr. P himself would do the same. I'd bet Arnel would faint
if that happened!
