Agreed. Augeri seems to be the genuine article. Was a big treat to see that picture and the video.

It would be huge to me to find out that the guys in the band and Augeri are on good terms. Which also lends to the idea of SA singing a song, just one, at a show somewhere. That would also be huge to me. Like when Rolie sat in with them in Austin on the last tour. That was friggin epic for me, as bad as the video was.

Well, as one who's ocaasionally leveled some minor criticisms at perry from time to time ( :| ), I can say that the walk of fame in '05 was enough. Him appearing with the band including Augeri was something I NEVER thought I'd see and that should've been enough for the confused fans to have closure on the singer acknowledging successor issue.

Can you imagine Perry hanging out with Pineda in the backstage, and commenting "Arnel sounds fantastic", I know ain't gonna happen, only wishful thinking. But I agree 100%, Augeri is a very classy guy and my hats off to him for giving Arnel a props. And not too many ousted members of a band/group can do what he did. 8)

But Arnel wasn't singing any of Augeri's songs. So hanging around and commenting on the performance, while certainly classy, just doesn't have that same bittersweet quality that it might have with Perry.

Just curious, did Perry ever talk to Augeri during Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony? I've never seen a picture or video, talking or congratulating each other. Or it's another snob fest. :?

They shook hands and I THINK exchanged a few words or a least a greeting that day.

There was either video or at least a pic of the handshake somewhere.

Very cool video. Always said Steve A was a kindhearted, classy guy. Both are gentleman and class acts.

Obviously Steve saw the concert. I wonder if his advice to Arnel was purely based off his own experience or if he was reacting to something he saw in Arnel's performance? Like was he hearing Arnel giving his a-game too much too often and was worried he'd shorten the life of his chords doing so? Either way, this was really cool.

 I wasn't at the WOF thing in January 2005, met him in May of 2006 when he walked up and surprised us. :o Some people can knock Perry all they want, and I have no idea what he was like back in the day in the height of the Journey madness, but I know for a fact he's one classy, warm, funny and very down to earth dude nowadays.

Did you see the way SA just slipped in the door? That kind of seasoned move makes me wonder if he ever sold insurance or cookware door to door...

Love SA and Arrival is a fav. Watching him slide in kind of cracked me up.

Could very well have been a moment he wanted to have with Arnel, out of the chaos in the hallway, and likely didn't know that anyone was videotaping it.
