Yep. I believe this as well and always said that. There is NO other player in this league more valuable to their team than Peyton Manning. It's not even close.

Don't know how i'd feel if my childhood team suddenly moved and another team took the place of the one that moved.Of course Baltimore went a good decade or more without football but i was wondering,AR did you still remain a Colts fan after the move to Indy in '84?

I'm a Ravens fan and a fan of the history of the Baltimore Colts. I root for the hometown team, not the laundry they wear. I just wish the name and colors would have been left here after the move. Teams really didn't start doing that until the mass media growth of ESPN and the internet.

Super Bowl V Colts trophy is still in Baltimore. Jimmy Irsay did a class thing unlike his father and only put 1 stone in the Indy Super Bowl ring when they won separating it from the one won in Baltimore.

Going to be a huge opening weekend with our two favorite teams locking horns on the 11th. My guys not looking so good tonight against the Skins. Chalking it up to preseason but the O-line is a mess.

Pittsburgh's been scrambling as well and I'm certainly concerned about our o-line. Baltimore has a STOUT d-line, starting with Ngata so I'm hoping this very, VERY patchy offensive line for the Steelers can be anywhere NEAR remotely close to deal with a being like Ngata. Defense looks amazing and fresh and the Steelers show a lot of weapons on the outsides. That damn o-line though....worrisome.

While i do like Atlanta's chances they have a very rough start in the first two weeks playing the Eagles and the Bears.The Saints have it difficult with the Packers and the Bears to start off.The Ravens and Steelers play in week one which is a cool way to start off the season.New England starts its first two games with the Dolphins and then Chargers.We could very well see a few good teams start off in a hole early in the regular season.The Cowboys have the Jets and 49ers to start off 2011.

I won't make this about the Patriots but anyone who really believes that pre-season football means anything at all is a complete jackass. All you need to know about pre-season football is that the Indianapolis Colts have one of the worse pre-season records of any NFL team over the past 6 seasons and NO team in the NFL has won more regular season games than the Colts have over that same 6 year span. Again, it means absolutely nothing, and anyone forming any opinions on anything they see during the pre-season simply doesn't understand football. The truth of the matter is that many of the guys playing in these games will be working for FEDEX next week!

Holdout running back Chris Johnson and the Tennessee Titans agreed to a four-year extension on Thursday, the team confirmed.

A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the extension is worth $53 million with $30 million guaranteed. The extension will be tacked on to the two years he had remaining on his previous contract, putting him under the Titans' control through the 2016 season.

Johnson will receive $31 million over the first three years of the extension. Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams, who signed a five-year, $43 million contract earlier this offseason, will get $30 million over the first three seasons of his deal.

Talks between the sides intensified on Wednesday night with both recognizing that if Johnson was going to play in Tennessee's regular-season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the deal had to get done in the next few days.

The Titans (2-1) wrap up the preseason Thursday night at New Orleans, but Tennessee's season opener is Sept. 11 at Jacksonville. With new coach Mike Munchak, having Johnson on the team for the entire season was crucial for Tennessee coming off a 6-10 season.

Tennessee wanted Johnson to at least have a few days of practice with new quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in a revised offense with coordinator Chris Palmer. The only other running back with any NFL carries is Javon Ringer with 59 in his career, and he has been hurt most of the preseason. Rookie Jamie Harper from Clemson started the past two preseason games for Tennessee.

Fullback Ahmard Hall said Tuesday that Johnson would have some work once he does arrive to learn the changes in Palmer's offense, especially with terminology.

"You're going to have to think," Hall said. "You're not going to just be able to roll in and hit the ground running as if coach (Mike) Heimerdinger were still here. Coach Palmer has put in a lot of good things, bu the language is different. He's definitely going to have to think. The sooner he gets in the better."

Johnson has led the NFL in yards rushing the past three seasons and refused to report to the camp without a new deal. The 24th pick overall in the 2008 draft out of East Carolina, Johnson became only the sixth man in NFL history to run for 2,000 yards in 2009 when he ran for 2,006 yards.

The Titans revised his contract a year ago, moving some money up in the deal, but he still was set to earn only $1.065 million for this season.

This deal will be noticed by running backs like Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, who is in the final year of his original contract. Carolina gave Williams $21 million guaranteed in his new deal a few weeks ago. Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, who is going into his fourth season, tweeted, "Congrads to (at)ChrisJohnson28 on the new deal well deserved...."

With all of the attention in Baltimore on the tackle and wide receiver positions, it’s easy to forget how different their secondary is going to look compared to the group that played the AFC Championship game.

Gone are starters Josh Wilson and Dawan Landry. It appears that Tom Zbikowski will take over Landry’s old starting job at safety.

Much more interesting: Baltimore’s youth movement at cornerback.

Cary Williams is expected to start at one cornerback spot. The fourth-year player has one career start in 2009. It looks like rookie Jimmy Smith will probably start at the other cornerback spot, according to both Baltimore area newspapers.

That would leave Chris Carr as a nickel defender and Domonique Foxworth as an expensive insurance policy as he tries to get healthy. Lardarius Webb is also in the mix.

All of the above is subject to chance, but there’s no denying the Ravens are making an interesting gamble by getting younger and faster through the roster. The same is true at wide receiver and tight end.

The Colts announced on Monday that Peyton Manning won’t practice this week, and that he likely will be listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.

“During the last week, the rate of improvement in Peyton’s rehabilitation process slowed,” the Colts said in a statement release moments ago. “Over the weekend Peyton experienced soreness in his back. It was originally thought to be a normal reaction to his rehabilitation regimen. When the soreness persisted, the Colts medical team decided to initiate diagnostic tests and to consult with a number of specialists around the country who have been involved in Peyton’s case from the outset. That process continues.

“As a result of the most recent development the doctors have decided that Peyton will not practice. His participation therefore, in Sunday’s game versus Houston will likely be doubtful. We will update his playing status as required by NFL policy as the week goes on.”

The Colts describe the situation as “a complicated neurological recovery, the end date of which is unpredictable,” and they commit to providing “concrete medical facts” when available and relevant.

Bert Jones was an exciting QB to watch for sure. When he played, the fortunes of the Baltimore COLTS seem to rise and fall with him. He had a cannon of an arm, way ahead of it's time.

Saints @ Packers: I think this is a very tough Week 1 test for the Super Bowl champion Packers. Drew Brees is still one of the best elites in the game and if it weren't for chocking their season away in last season's Wild Card Round against the Seahawks, the Saints could of been NFC's representative last season. The Champs have been hot in years past but the Saints could give the Pack trouble in multiple area's for a very tough test for a week 1 matchup. Saints by 6.
