Play Arrival in its entirety live and make it a live album? FUCK YES

I don't like the idea of re-recording Arrival at all. Let's just go ahead and further white out Steve Augeri.

Steve Augeri is my favorite Journey singer, make no mistake. I wouldn't be crazy about re-records, but if they're out there, I'd buy them. I really love the material on Arrival and would be intrigued to the point of buying the re-records.

I would be ecstatic about Arrival live though

There are some songs on Arrival that Augeri owns (Kiss me Softly and I Got a Reason as examples). However, Higher Place NEEDS to be re-done by a stronger voice. I want that song to have one more chance. Deen-O singing it was amazing.

Gotta disagree. I don't believe Higher Place needs anything at all. Steve Augeri did a fine job on it.

I've always disliked that song and I think it's the piss poor vocals. No power or conviction to them. Very pedestrian. Kiss Me Softly, on the other hand, is a masterpiece and the song I consider to be the best of the Augeri era, along with Remember Me. But even Remember Me could have used some more oomph in the vocal department.

I strongly, vehemently, aggressively disagree...Augeri nails that song, IMO. 8)

Steve Augeri's vocals on HP was anything but piss poor. Just my personal opinion. I think trying to re-create the wheel and redo everything Journey has already done in the catalog is just a stupid move, and a contradiction for a band that wants to continue making new music.

I've never heard any oomph in any of Augeri's songs with Journey. That's why the ballads like KMS work so well. The guy is not a powerful singer, he is more of an acoustic type of artist where you have to make sure you don't over power his vocals with the instruments.

Again, I disagree totally. He's got a good amount of punch and attitude when it calls for it, IMO. He's certainly not singing "Higher Place" and "Kiss Me Softly" the same way.

Wow, that's quite a challenge. That's like trying to better re-arrange the cat turds in the litter box to make it more visually appealing.

+1. One of your best posts. Classic.

One of the songs I would have loved to hear JSS record.

Re Arrival, what I would like to have is a live album with hits like Separate Ways extended version, What I Needed extended version. etc. with some Arrival thrown in live like Signs of Life, We Will Meet Again, Live and Breathe, a couple more I would have to think about. I would have to give thought to the live songs from all eras I want. Then they could throw in four newly written songs with it.

Neal. if you're reading here, there is much love for Resonate. Put it back in concert. Anything is Possible I'm waiting, anticipating its first live introduction. Please take La Do Do out.

Thanks for sharing your holiday barbecue photos, B. I see you're showing your best side. LOL
