I need more advice. Russia is going very well and I'm learning the language relatively quickly. Next month I intend to travel to Dubai for fall break. What can you tell me?

Just read a website about traveling to Dubai. It suggested the following.

You will need a visa to visit Dubai. U.S. citizens can obtain one upon arrival in Dubai. Canadian citizens must obtain one before traveling to Dubai.

Sunscreen is strongly suggested.

Tap water is tolerable, but bottled water is suggested.

Rent a car, as taxi's, while readily available, are very expensive.

You can drink in a bar, but only residents can buy liquor at the liquor store.

220 volt, 3 pronged outlets are the norm.

Ramadan was in August, so no need to worry about that.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
