The Real Tragedy of the Salahi Divorce: Michaele’s Dog Rio Died of a Broken Heart

3 hours ago by Natalie Zutter | 2 Comments | Share a Tip

This is animal cruelty, guys. It turns out the biggest victim in the Salahi divorce isn’t Tareq Salahi, who had to find out from TMZ that wife Michaele had left him for Journey‘s guitarist… It’s their dog Rio, who died last night. The Doberman had had heart problems, and after Michaele left, he literally couldn’t get out of bed. Rio loved Michaele and, according to Tareq, felt abandoned.

(That bit is up for debate: I don’t know if animals can catch on after only a few days that their owners are gone. My cat is happy to see me every time I come back to California, and that’s after me being gone for six months.)

Apparently when Tareq gave Rio his heart meds before bed, the dog started yelping and died soon after. Tareq seems genuinely broken up about losing his pet and is of course blaming Michaele for creating all the stress that led to Rio’s untimely end.

At least Tareq has one bit of consolation in all this: Since the Salahis’ prenup has a clause against cheating, Michaele won’t get any of his money from their eight-year marriage and won’t be able to file for spousal support.

What money? I thought they were bankrupt and in foreclosure anyway. And no spousal support......it serves the bitch right.

LOL. TMZ has hit a new low trying to drive this story with a backhoe video. I could see her leaving crazy Tareq, but any person who has a dog they love and knows it's on its deathbed and leaves I question. Even my cold as ice of a brother would barely leave his dog's side the last weeks of his life.

I've kind of wondered if Neal is in any danger...he doesn't seem like too stable of a person.

I agree, this Tarig (sp) is a total whack job. I'm still waiting for his next idea to keep his name in the media. I'm figuring it will probably be "she killed our baby" or something similar. Unbelievable how low this guy will go!! SAD!

Tareq isn't going to do anything except send Neal some vitamins. He needs him to stay alive. If anything happens to Neal's health, they will investigate Tareq immediately.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

This is all bullshit. It's a setup. This is all about keeping their names in the papers and jacking up potential viewership for one of their stupid shows.

Neal's just chasing tail.

I'd like to know how Neal and Journey is not getting snubbed by the media right now, as usual.
Maybe, as Ross has said in the past, "they finally got a story". Hell, they gotta be RnRHOF bound now!

Like I've said for years - a celebrity's business is the keep themselves in the news.
There's no right or wrong. There's no truth, and there's certainly nothing false.
It's all impulsive. You just do what you feel, and let the 'news' take the rest.
No harm, no foul. These people are on a different plane.

And it's not good or bad...it's just the way it is.
If 'WE' really didn't like it, we'd ignore it, and they'd all go away.
