I am also kind of curious if anyone would watch and respond to this thread, considering all the gossip threads are going bananas. Now maybe if I put a title of Neal Schon does a local teacher it might get watched.

I won't make a sweeping generalizing statement towards teachers. That being said, the unions need to be busted, and the collective bargaining rights need to be taken away....and 'tenure' needs to go the way of the dodo...

I wasn't refering to bad teachers, unions, or tenure.

I just thought it was cool that this guy pointed out the ugly treatment teachers get about being respected. We get paid far less than most folks in our profession, and work our butts off only to have people look down on us.

I was just wanting to give respect where respect is due. There are teachers out there who make a difference, who are trying in a world that talks down to them, demeans them, and ridicules them.

For math teachers and English teachers who bust their butts only to be belittled and talked down to, I give my highest regards. It is hard when federal regulations come in and make your life impossible, and make you re-think your profession. For those folks I give my respect.

Yes, if I want anyone to look at a thread about teachers I would have to advertise Neal's crank. That is the sad outlook of our society.
