Sometimes I hate cats!

Postby steveo777 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:35 pm

It's finally gotten cool enough where we don't run the air conditioner, but instead, open the bedroom window for some fresh air. Thought all would be good
and woke up in the middle of the night to some fighting or mating cats, clawing at my screen. One of them must have sprayed the screen because now there
is this fucking awful musty odor. I need to set up a way to scare them and keep them from coming near my window. Any ideas?

Any kind of predator urine spray (wolf, coyote) will probably do the trick.

In the yard near the boundary, not your window. They're not gonna be afraid of your piss, you aren't looking to eat them.

Here's a couple ideas

1. Grab cat , place in Image, hit high button

2.Grab cat, skin Image except for head , place on floor in the living room

3.Grab cat, place in Image, place microwave on window sill facing out for other cats to see, turn on microwave to high power x 10 minutes, other cats should get the message

Let me know if i can help you out with any other projects Steveo Image

Try what Don said. Don't take out your misery on a bunch of defenseless cats. It isn't their fault their owners are no good, non neutering crap heads.

Classic, but just too obvious a choice. I filled up a super soaker water gun just in case they came back. They haven't yet, but I'm ready.
The other thing pissing me off is that they are always laying on top of our vehicles when they are outside.

There's always a paintball gun. It's not lethal but it still hurts like hell.

Cats are said to be repelled by things that are citrus scented. May not always work, but it's worth a shot (I tried once and found it to be true). Plenty of cirtus scented products and cleaners out there to try, and if it doesn't work, it's cheap enough that you haven't wasted money. The animal urine scented stuff is a lot more expensive (though probably far more effective).

Pellet forms work well, because you aren't spraying the product (if you're worried about the smell). And even if you do use a predator spray, cats have a much more sensitive sense of smell, so you don't need a lot of the product - they will smell it and more than likely, you won't.

Kill all of them and we wouldn't have this problem. They don't even fetch of protect your house and you can't even eat them (well in this country anyways). What useless animals!

Where I grew up, there were thick wooded areas all around the house and across the street.

I can remember on hot & humid July / August nights, when I'd have to sleep with the windows open, I'd hear screaming and yowling.
It sounded like screaming babies, and it scared me...I was in grade school....turned out it was cats "in heat" - in the woods across the street.

I know EXACTLY how that sounds, but WOW...sounds like "your Cats" are kinda out of control - never had anything climb up my screens.
But, then again.....our house was on top of a hill.

You could always just ask them politely to stay away from your window.....

Cats HATE HATE HATE the sound of air escaping - in any way shape of form. Whether you make the sound yourself (Pssssssssssst!!) or air from a nozzle connected to an air compressor, or even the air escaping from a balloon. Not sure how you could/would incorporate that into devising a deterrent but it's a simple, cheap and easy method if you could.
