I was front row, Neal's side. Excellent show, crowd was totally into it. Gayle, Fu, and some other people who read MR were there.

It was great to see Fu, Rip, and a lot of other MR "old timers" there! Also good to see some of the Plokkers that I have met at various other events. Really just a great group of people enjoying rock and roll and supporting Arnel.

I am a huge fan of Night Ranger and I really enjoyed their set. Jack Blades has the energy of a 20 year old.....a great front man and the whole band appeared to enjoy playing to the Dallas crowd.

Foreigner puts on a great show. Kelly Hansen has a huge set of pipes and is a very charismatic front man. He climbed railings and went into the audience twice.....grabbed my arm to help him off the stage, which I wasn't prepared for......I think I may have spilled some of my drink on him. :oops:

I thought that Journey sounded great. I did not notice any sound issues, but I was up front so it may not have been as noticeable from where I was. Whether or not you agree with Arnel as the front man, he is a MONSTER of a singer and a very sweet, humble man. Neal did several extended solos, which was fine with me as I was right in front of him and am always amazed to watch him play. The show was sold out, and I made the effort to watch and see how the crowd reacted when COH and La Do Da were played. From what I could see, no one in the seated areas sat down. Matter of fact, the crowd in Dallas stood the whole time for Journey and were very, very loud.

It was a great night, and if you're on the fence about whether you should attend this show or not, I highly recommend that you do! These three bands together is a fun night of rock and roll......put aside all media drama and personal opinions and just go and have a good time!

The concert in Dallas was excellent. But Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick Dallas must be the mullet-head, drunkfest capital of The United States. If the city of Dallas is hurting for money all they have to do is park some unmarked police cars right down the street from the venue. They'd raise enough money from DWI tickets to run the city for the next 5 years. :roll:

It's been on sale for over a month there. Unlike Revelation which sold over 30,000 in the P.I., without a ballad that the local artists can karaoke to, Eclipse might not even pass 3,000 in sales. It's just not the kind of music Pinoys think of when they hear the name Journey.

Remember all the Open Arms duets, the one singer doing his own cover of AATY? Nothing like that for the home town to connect to with Eclipse.

Just the sheer number of covers performed everyday on variety shows or played on the radio, it's a no brainer that Disc two of Revelation was the driving force behind most of those album sales in the P.I.

I did let one couple visiting from PI have my space at the rail so they could get close to AP...I think they were happy!

That's been something we've seen over the last few years. After the initial hoopla, the traffic at both of Arnel's sites slowed tremendously too. (the initial site had gotten up to 10,000 members but after splitting and restarting, both AP sites now total about 4,600 combined).
Home town boy does good and has a covers album with songs we remember from our younger years.
And that's where it sort of ended. The band took time off, Arnel stayed away from solo material and went back on to the covers circuit for awhile ( where he could play everything EXCEPT the music that had made him famous).

Meanwhile, the documentary about his life fizzled and younger stars like Charice started making their own waves, especially with her getting on Glee.

Not being such a young guy anymore and being in Journey and not the Arnel Pineda Band, those Hometown fans that were excited in the beginning may have just been front runners and now have moved on to the next big thing.

For us fans here though, it'a good thing. Instead of Homeless Arnel and the J-Boyz, it has all come back to just being Journey again, as it should be.

Charice might have him beat. She's been a steady presence on the dance charts, plus her TV gig on Glee and her touring with David Foster.
Also, don't forget about Tony winner Lea Salonga and all those royalties she earns from Disney and her other Hollywood appearances.

Combined, they can't touch Manny though.
