It was fun. I actually had the starred tights and boots too. This was a dress rehearsal in my apartment, and the only pic that exists.

I'm not in the tank for Steve A. When his songs suck (see Believe), I say so. I think "Photograph" is a cool tune.

Photograph is cool, just got it. Riverside might be more commercial. Either way it's a win for Journey fans getting to hear what Steve can write and perform on his own.

I have 2 tracks here in full - Photograph being one of them. Both musically adventerous and diverse...like Tall Stories with a classic rock twist. Photograph is a real grower.

It's quite obvious that singing live is now extremely difficult for Steve Augeri. That said, he seems to do very few shows and obviously still enjoys doing it, so I say good for him. I'd go see him and throw back a few.

"Photograph" is pretty busy, production wise, alot going on. Nice contrast of SA using his low range on the lead and his high range on the BG vox. Cool song. Live "Riverside" he's not going for any glass-shattering Perryisms. Hugo's band is prolly helping him write some of these tracks.

Not sure where you got that impression from Inspector Clouseau since you have not attended a live show since the JttC ball 2 years ago, but you may want to reserve judgement until after you hear him live now.

When I hear a guy missing notes that he used to nail with relative ease, and is doing so with months of rest in between shows, I think it's both reasonable and rational to come to the conclusion that it's now a difficult endeavor. That's nothing more than age and miles on his voice. It happens to virtually everyone.

I'd love to visit or have a bash next year when our house is done. We'll have it done, hopefully, by next summer and it's on 12 acres, so we have plenty of room to get stupid. With any luck, the Ravens play the Chiefs in KC sometime in the next year or two.

I think he's a stand-up guy, but I don't see how anyone here can defend this song. It's terrible! I'm glad some of you are still catching his shows and having fun, but I'll pass. Give it a rest already Steve.

seriously Jim, how about you "give it a rest" it really is coming across from you as sour grapes because your Cold Heart didn't do what you had hoped it would.

Wow......just do not get it!! These videos are very clear, and good quality, compared to a lot of videos that get posted on youtube!! The new songs sound great, (Photograph, Riverside and Rich Mans World) ) and the video clips show that Steve and this band are putting on a a great performance!!! (This is just my opinion of course!) It is apparent that the crowd was having a blast, and it looks like Steve and the band are enjoying themselves as well!! Why all the negativity?? I was in attendance at this concert, the concert promoter stated there were only a couple of seats available prior to opening the doors, so a sell out!! Mr. Augeri took time after the show to meet and greet everyone in attendance, signing autographs and taking pictures. He is a class act, no doubt about it! For those that enjoy and support Steve, go to a show and see for yourself! I was more than impressed!!! They put on a hell of a show!! 8)

I think it's awesome that he's still recording stuff. Steve's recorded works are excellent (From Tall Stories to Journey- haven't heard much of his solo stuff yet). However, singing live has been a challenge for Steve as long as he was in Journey. He's had a few Great shows. The majority of his shows though (at least the ones I've heard and I've heard a ton of them) were tough for him. Not great vocal pitch live and just doesn't have the power necessary to pull off most of the Journey stuff. While I don't subscribe to the American Idol Prerequisite that some folks seem to have, pitch is a fundamental necessity of being a lead singer. He very much needs to work on that. Also, for God's sake, put the songs in a key that makes it easier for him. Who gives a rats a$$ if they are lowered or not? The song should ALWAYS fit the singer's range. I've always liked Steve Augeri. I had the Tall Stories album since it came out and it's a personal favorite. But man, he needs to do something to help himself on the road.

Yeah, I thought that was a weird reply, but I'm not going there. Music is subjective as are people's taste in singers, right Jim? It's just the way things go and not everybody likes everything.
Actually, I have more than enough "success" at this point. I don't think I could handle playing any more without having a nervous breakdown. I'm as busy as I want to be... more dough would be nice, but as for playing, I'm playing a lot these days in 3 different bands.

But there's "what you like" and there's "Fact". The FACT is, SA's voice isn't up to the material he's trying to cover, at least live. There are plenty of guys that can bring it, or enhance it in the studio, but they can't take the pressure of "the road". I KNOW I'd be in the latter camp. Singing night after night doesn't come easy to me, that's for sure. I can only imagine how difficult it is for SA. Doesn't mean I don't like him. Doesn't mean I don't respect him. Doesn't mean he's not a favorite of mine. He is definitely a favorite, but I prefer his recordings to his shows.

Anyone who collects bootlegs know this to be true. Augeri was in the raw as early as 2001. The band should have done something about it then (maybe get Deen to sing?). Steve's high range is still pretty fried. That's ok. He still puts on a good show and I'll still go see him and buy his new material. Still a better frontman than Arnel.
