51 points scored in the game and only 1 touchdown from an offensive scrimmage :shock: Flacco only completed 10 pass's and noodle arm Sanchez only completes 11 pass's for the whole entire game. Ravens defense scored 21 points and the Jets 7 :shock: Going to be a wacky season.

I still think it's New England who can do the most damage in the AFC, being able to score 30+ a game and be able to deal with the make of a bad defense. Baltimore has a great D, but when it comes down to it, you need a QB to put the heat on their shoulders down the long-stretch (in today's NFL) and I don't trust in Flacco whatsoever to do so when that time arrives. He only completed 10 pass's tonight, fumbled once and threw a pick 6. Right now, N.E is the best team in the AFC.

Oct 9 -Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers,

Going to be a long hard fought game with two real good defenses facing off.Definitely going to be a great game.

Oct 16 -Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens,

I think this is going to be one hell of a game.Texans looking pretty good so far so this will definitely be a test.

The only stat that matters, other than WINS, is points given up. Yardage doesn't matter in the least. For example, if you are constantly losing the field position battle - off course you are going to appear to be giving up the least yardage because your opponent has less field to traverse...Turnovers will do the same thing.

The chart I looked at had Indy first in defense, and they are 0-3, soon to be 0-4....basing defense on yardage is asinine...

More brilliant statements from the Cowgirls. Rob Ryan said if Calvin Johnson (who is the best receiver in the NFL) would only be the third best receiver (on the team) if he played for the FraudGirls :shock: Brilliant statement in another losing effort. What a completely embarrassing franchise Jerry the big mouth has turned them into.

These Ryan's need to insert their foot in their ass and their ass happens to be their mouth. Where the hell did they come from? Do they think they are apart of some revolution? If your last name is Ryan, you must say ridiculous things and completely embarrass the organization you coach for. It's fitting for Dallas. Jones probably loves the press, good or bad. That dude just craves the attention with all camera's on him. But these Ryans just need to STFU. Their gibberish means nothing,

I couldn't disagree more. Honestly, this New England defense is easily the worse defense I've seen in my life, through 4 games. Their leader in interceptions is a dude who weighs almost 400lbs (Wilfork), and beyond Wilfork and Mayo (who is now injured), I don't think anyone else on that defense qualifies as above average. The fact that guys like Jason Campbell and Chad Henne have passed for over 300 yards is frightening, and tells me that New England isn't going anywhere with this defense. I still think they have the best offense and QB in the NFL, but it's simply not good enough with this putrid of a defense.

Haynesworth must not be in a contract year?

Yeah they can have all the offensive fire power in the world but come playoff time thats gonna come back and bite them.

If somehow the offense has a bad day you can hang it up.

They depending way too much on the offense and that has to be fixed.

Brady and Welker can't do it all.

Jackass Favre has opened his big yapper! :roll:
Rodgers will win more championships than your over-rated ass.

http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports. ... 8/32504423
Brett Favre may not have wanted to be a mentor to Aaron Rodgers after the Packers drafted him in 2005, but now that the ol' gunslinger's officially retired from the NFL, he's had a chance to reflect on his career. That includes his final years in Green Bay, when the organization tried to gently transition from Hall of Famer to up-and-comer … except that Favre was having none of it.

In the end, it all got very messy, with the fake-retirement press conferences, the one-year stint with the Jets that only made things worse, and the ultimate slap in the face to Green Bay: playing for the division rival Vikings. (Karma: leading Minnesota to the NFC Championship game … only to throw a back-breaking, game-deciding interception.)

But bygones are bygones, and the kindler, gentler Favre spoke about the high-powered Packers offense, and the finely tuned engine behind it all, Aaron Rodgers (via SportsRadioInterviews.com):
I’m going to be honest, I was not surprised [about Rodgers' performance]. The biggest surprise to me would be that he didn’t do it sooner. It’s funny how people can get over time -- my last year in Green Bay prior to the first game -- I made the remark that this was probably the most talented team that I’ve ever played on. And of course everyone looked up and was like ‘this guy’s off his rocker.’

We were very, very young; take me out of the mix and we were by far the youngest team in the league. But I could see the talent pool across the board was outstanding. Now our season kind of ended up being a reflection of that. We came close, and I think we took a lot of people by surprise, but guys emerged rather quickly.

Aaron had a chance…even though the last couple years it’s seemed like he’s almost a rookie, he’s been around awhile. And I’d like to think that he watched, he learned, and then when he got a chance to play, he brought in his ability which is obviously very good or they wouldn’t have drafted him in the first round. He’s got tremendous talent, he’s very bright and he got a chance to watch and see successful teams do it right.

And so he just kind of fell into a good situation. On top of that, he’s a good player. I don’t think there’s any pressure on him now, the talent around him is even better than when I was there. So I’m really kind of surprised it took him so long. In the early part of last year season, it hadn’t quite clicked yet and I didn’t know it would. I just kind of figured when they hit their stride, they’re going to be hard to beat. And that’s what happened.
The Cliffs Notes version of Favre's longwinded remarks: "Aaron Rodgers is obviously good, but he's also the beneficiary of watching me play so awesomely for so long. Plus, the team he has now is WAY better than anything I had to work with. So, yeah, he doesn't have any pressure on him."

CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman is understandably apoplectic. "[Favre] can't leave it alone. Can't just wear his Wranglers. Can't go fishin' or do his textin'. Has to chime in knowing it's probably going to irk Rodgers. Unbelievable."

The thing is, we bet Rodgers won't even acknowledge it. Guys who can rock the ironic hillbilly look (the only way to make this better would be if Rodgers wore Wranglers over his game pants) while rightfully clowning another NFL quarterback are clearly quite comfortable with their station in life.

Fuck you. The guy has a ring, turned an ice cold town that nobody wanted to play for into a winner, establishing a culture there that has every player wanting to go there. Favre was the greatest Packer ever, yes that includes Paul Horning too.

Media whore? So what. Name one star in this ritzy league that doesn't like the camera?

I bet if Favre played for the Pats, you'd love him. I love you John, but I absolutely hate everyone of your 4 teams in Boston. Conceited fucking town. I'm glad the Red Sox didn't get in. I admire you though, for being the only Sox fan on here, who didn't bitch and moan and whine over the loss. LOL, I saw certain Boston posters saying "if this" or "if that" to "should have been safe" to "this game is rigged." You are a true fan, and I respect that.

Yeah I get it. I blacked it out though. I hate all of you fuckers and your over hyped/ overpriced town. It is however, obviously the best city in the NEC.

Trenton= Shithole
New York= Piss fountain
Baltimore=scary
DC= corrupt, odorous and deadly

Providence= nice little place. Ed and bailed off Amtrak's Metroliner to catch Journey in Mansfeld. Glad we did rather than go all the way into Back bay station.

Remember that trip Stylc? I had a couple meet and greet passes, and tickets and couldn't give em away. We found some dude who wanted in, but we were looking to find clam instead. I remember taking a couple dozen percocets and sweating like a overheated gorilla in downtown Laredo, TX. Fuck I embarrassed myself that night. Remember when Lippard was playing, I poked my beak through the curtain and lost my balance and fell on the floor? All 17K people saw me. Elliot looked at me like I was OJ. That was also the night I rummaged through Lippards ice chests and thieved all their Sam Adams...haha, fuckers.

Remember it all well. When we were in Baltimore I was able to show you areas where it didn't look like an episode of "The Wire" though. :lol:

That train ride out of Atlantic City to Providence was something else. Crazy fucking night. I woke up the next morning after the show and all that went on and missed my train and slept for 3 hours in Providence waiting for the next one.

The Bengals rank #20 as a total offense. The Ravens rank 14th, right under the Steelers at 13th :shock:

That just goes to show how mis-leading stats can really be. The Steelers are awful and remain a top 15 offense. The Ravens offense is too inconsistent as well. I just think Flacco is that type of QB that manages the game but at the same time, can't open anything up to carry his team when they need him. The Ravens made the Jets offense look downright horrible. The Ravens offense didn't look any better, if not, worse on some occasions Sunday night.

Of those three clubs, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh or Baltimore, Cincy has the best offence. What do they say though Trav? That's right, defence wins championships, and that spells trouble for that team up in Boston, who flat out reeks of diarrhea; while at the same time, gives hope to the Steelers. Oh and Trav, of those three QB's, I'll take Dalton over Flaccid or Rapistberger who has looked fucking pathetic. Dude has me in stitches trying to make plays, falling on his fat ass. I watch the PGH games just to laugh at their horrible offence.

Who cares anyway? Since the year started, college football has been leaps and bounds more exciting than the boring NFL. Seriously, of the four major sports, the NFL is easily the most boring.

You're in rare form, Dude. Nice to see you back around these parts. The NFL will ALWAYS trump ALL other sports...by A LOT! There isn't even a close second, when it comes to fan interest and there NEVER will be. As for your synopsis, I don't agree that the Bengals have the best offense, but it may be a push out of those three teams. I do think The Rapist is the best QB out of those three teams, but that's not saying much. Mendenhall is fucking AWFUL. Dude is hyped every season as a "stud" running back, and he can't get out of his own way. I'd probably give the edge to Baltimore's offense (even though I'm not a fan of Flacco). Ray Rice is easily the best running back on those three teams, and I love the way this kid Torrey Smith looks.

4 on 2, the offense has its way with the defense, empty net on both sides of the net, it's the goalie's fault, right? Roethlisberger is playing the way he is for a reason. The terrible play and the suicide attempt that is the Steelers offensive line is finally getting into the quarterbacks head. His 2 step drop has 4 guys in his face and he can barely scramble without looking over his shoulder anymore. We have a practice squad player protecting his blind side and we're now bringing in a player who came to camp 400+ pounds in an attempt at something. The Steelers offense is awful, nothing can get going when the line is on roller-skates.

As for defense, that's true but in today's NFL, you atleast need to have an fluid offense that can move the chains and put up some points and New England is the best at that. Other than Baltimore, who hasn't faced a good offense yet in the league, noone is playing the type of defense in the AFC of championship caliber. Maybe Houston but even they are flawed. Until that happens, New England's 31+ average scoring on offense will simply get it done and mask a bad defense so I like their chances right now because of it. Long season though, somebody better start playing defense somewhere in the AFC not named Baltimore (who hasn't even been tested and when they were, they got scorched by Hasselbeck, who's the most underrated player in the NFL at the moment.)
