Rambo 5 Update

Despite the fact that Sylvester Stallone had reportedly put the Rambo character behind him, according to screenwriter Sean Hood a script has been written for a fifth installment.

Explained Hood, "I met with Mr Stallone twice last year. He gave me a book, an older screenplay and about 20 pages he'd written himself to use as inspiration for the last chapter of the Rambo saga. Right now, as I understand it, he has his hands full with Bullet to the Head and Expendables 2. But Millennium Films did hire me to complete the screenplay and realize his story, and my hope is that he'll eventually be inspired to do one more Rambo film, with the tone of Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven."

I don't know. I thought the end of Rambo 4 was brilliant with Rambo returning to his home. Leave it at that please Sly. What's next Rocky comes back and actually wins the boxing heavy weight championship?

Whereas I agree that the end of Rambo 4 was a pretty good way to end the series, I hope that Stallone does make one last Rambo.

Only problem is that by the time he would start filming Rambo 5, he might be too old to do many stunts in the film?

 "He adapted! He overcame!" (You know which movie that's from.)

In Rambo 4, he hung back in the final battle and manned the gatling gun while the mercs did all the cardio stuff.

In Rambo V, he can zip around in a wheelchair fitted with light machine guns and a grenade launcher!! Bring it on!!

What's Bullet To The Head?

Also, wonder what's going on with his possible Death Wish remake? THAT'S the one I wanna see.

I thought the last scene of "Rambo" put perfect closure on that series.

As long as Sly has left the mutated monster storyline behind. Sounded too sci-fi for Rambo. Rambo 4 kicked ungodly amounts of ass.

The last 18 or so minutes of Rambo are quite posssibly the best sequence in action/war film history.

To hell with that shit. Sly's no Charles Bronson. Bronson totally made that role his own. He casts a shadow too large for anyone else to get out of.

I didn't see the remake of The Mechanic for that reason.

Agree on Bronson, he is a fucking monster but Stallone is equally huge if not not bigger.

It's not about how "big" the actor is in Hollywood, it's about the gravitas one brings to the role. Charles Bronson IS Paul Kersey. Stallone already did a vigilante type in Get Carter and he was alright in that, but you can see right there he's not right for the role. There's more to it than just being a mute with a gun. Stallone doesn't have an "everyman" look to him. Shit, I'd sooner see Hector Elizondo play the role!

I do agree with this. Bronson can't be touched in that role, or the Mechanic role. I wish not to have a remake of it. I did see the new version of the "Mechanic"...while I did enjoy it, I liked the original better. Have the original on dvd. Bronson was in a class all by himself.

If you don't think Stallone is versitile enough, watch Copland.

He'd make a great Kersey.

Not knocking Bronson, either.

How about the line in 2: he sees the punks cross. "You believe in Jesus?"
"yea."

I was waiting for somebody to say that.

It's a good movie, I DO like it, but really, is it that much of a stretch?

Well, it's only the most-quoted line from any of the Death Wish movies. :)

How about the remote-controlled soccer ball "bomb" Kersey/Bronson rolls over to that one asshole Freddy Flakes in V...that's one funny line at 0:15! (This clip has nudity, too.)

Don't think I've ever seen nudity on Youtube before.
