Stop with the drug references. Washington is clean and sober and absolutely garners "Manager of the year."

My profile picture is in high respect of his tenure.

Wonder how many other coaches have shoved dust up their noses? I'm sure you won't have to look hard. At least Ron was brave enough to tackle it.

Feliz is very young. He's come through so many times. I'm sure he's devastated.

Win or lose tomorrow, I'm one very proud Rangers fan.

With that said, you can't take anything away from the Cardinals. That is one well managed, talented team.

I got to say Im glad I wasn't a Cardinals Texas fans whilst watching that game. Both sets of fans must have felt the whole spectrum of emotions across the evening magnified hundredfold and both must have completely shot nerves . Two great sets of fans - too bad someone has to lose tonight.

I like Ronnie Dub a lot, but I think it's absolutely preposterous that, when busted for sniffing the devil's dandruff, he claimed that it was his first and only time ... at 50+ years of age. That made him look bad. From an article:

"Washington told them he’d used cocaine before the All-Star break. He said he’d not used it before or since."

Yeah, at 57, that was the first time.

Like it or not now Rick, as long as Washington is your manager you will endure such comments. Just like Patriots fans have been hearing about Tapegate, Belicheat, and the Cheatriots for years.

I'm kinda partial to that one too. :)

Great season for the Rangers. So close last night. Congrats to the Cardinals and their fans.

Cardinals' La Russa retires as champ

''I think this just feels like it's time to end it,'' La Russa said Monday morning during a news conference at Busch Stadium.

La Russa, 67, goes out a champion after leading the Cardinals to a stirring seven-game World Series triumph over the Texas Rangers just days ago. It was his third championship. He also won the 1989 World Series with Oakland and the 2006 Series with St. Louis.

The four-time Manager of the Year won six pennants, three in the AL with the Athletics and three more in the NL with the Cardinals, and his 2,728 victories trail John McGraw by only 35 for second on the all-time managerial list.

''Other than some of the personal attachments, I feel good,'' La Russa said. ''I feel good that this is the right decision.''

La Russa said there wasn't a single factor that led to his decision, but he began having doubts about returning for 2012 midway through the season. In late August he told general manager John Mozeliak and other team officials.

La Russa said the timing of those discussions - about the time the Cardinals appeared to be out of wild card contention before their miraculous run - was pure coincidence. He said he simply felt it was time to go, a feeling that didn't change even as the Cardinals squeaked into the playoffs on the final day of the season, then upset the Phillies, Brewers and Rangers.

He spoke with little emotion at the news conference with one exception, when he paused to compose himself as he thanked his wife, Elaine, and two daughters for putting up without him over much of the past 33 years. But he did say his meeting with players after Sunday's parade and celebration was short but emotional.

''Some grown men cried,'' La Russa said, then he joked, ''I kind of liked that because they made me cry a few times.''

Mozeliak said work is under way to find a new manager for the first time since La Russa was hired prior to the 1996 season. A search committee will be formed. Mozeliak did not speculate on how long the process might take.

La Russa answered flatly, ''No,'' when asked if he'll ever manage again. He also said he had no plans to be a general manager, but said he is open to some sort of baseball job in the future.

''Maybe open a book store,'' he said.

The World Series was a really enjoyable series. Very human in it's appeal given the amount of mistakes. And fuck texas....glad they lost. Josh Hamilton gets too much credit for having been an utter scumbag. Yes, he has recovered. He has also relapsed. But he deserves as much or more respect than the other 98% of the players who never got restraining orders filed against them by their wives, or ripped off their parents and friends, who pissed away everyone in their life's faith and trust repeatedly. He also needs to shut the fuck up about God. God has better taste i'd think than speaking through that shitbag. Hambone threw his coach under the bus when he got hurt this year...True colors. Fuck Josh Hamilton. I've got 50 bucks that says he goes off the deep end of the wagon and spends some time in the clink again in his life. He always says the good Lord chooses him when he wins and succeeds. I guess God decided he was a big fat loser once again in the big dance.

...and fuck Timmy Tebow too. Judgemental moron. God determines the outcome of football games. Moron.
