I love Perry as much as anyone on this god foresakin mudball called Earth (Fuck you RobbieG), but in the scheme of music as a whole, he really isn't a legend. There are a handful of guys and gals in music alive today, and you probably can count them on one hand or maybe two- IMHO, Espee isn't quite there.

I totally disagree. When you have on of the greatest voices in music history that alone makes you a legend. Who else can sing high notes, has a more recognizable voice, and has more powerful voice than Perry? You would be really hard pressed to find someone.

Steve had two years in the 80s when everyone knew his name. We Are The World and the MTV video of Oh Sherrie accounted fora lot of that.

He didn't get back to being recognized again until the Chisox went to the series. Yeah, there was TBF and other things before that but nothing really that put his name out there until the baseball moment and even that wasn't the major catalyst that the Sopranos story was. Once he did the Glee thing and started granting interviews, his star began rising again though I doubt it will ever get back to where it was during those few years in the 80s.

I love how you slide that in there.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Thanks, man. She's pretty awesome, but the fact that she's dating me is indicative of either a high pain threshold or an unstable mind.

:)

I always wondered why SP never married. He was an only child, and usually they are the ones who have the big families later on.
Another interesting story is the one where he finds his daughter. By dates, he was about 23 or so when he dated her ,mom. Was it a long term relationship, or just one of those things? He must have been really surprised when she got in touch with him...I think that relationship has added ,much to his life, and having grandchildren is the frosting on the cake! He seems like he has corralled his "anger" issues, and has turned into a very nice person.
Anybody got any thoughts about this? What a great ,movie this would ,make!

:D
