Jeremey Frederick - Every Little Thing...

Some four years ago a singer by the name of Jeremey Frederick Hunsicker was offered the position of lead vocalist with Journey, but within a few short hours of working out the details he received a phone call that explained Journey guitarist Neal Schon had changed his mind.

A few months later it was a singer called Arnel Pineda whose life changed forever.

Hunsicker returned to Frontiers, the acclaimed Journey tribute band from where his exceptional vocal talent had got him noticed by Journey in the first place.
Hunsicker and Frontiers reputation grew and by 2008 were gigging full-time, performing across the States to packed theatres and concert halls.

Jeremey Hunsicker isn’t just one of the best and noted tribute singers, however.
Jeremey Hunsicker is also a songwriter and has spent most of this year writing and recording his first solo album, Every Little Thing, to be released under the name Jeremey Frederick (his middle name).

Anyone that loves strong-voiced, well crafted melodic rock or has heard any of Hunsicker's original songs such as the ballad ‘This is Your Life’ will know that the album should be worth waiting for.

But, due to some unexpected setbacks and costs to mix, master and produce the physical CD’s, the album nearly didn't see the light of day. Or at least could have been delayed indefinitely.

Luckily, Hunsicker's campaign page over at Kickstarter.com (to raise the needed funds by mid October) came good and the album will now be released as scheduled, hopefully by the end of the year.
Jeremey should also be a featured artist on FabricationsHQ before the year is out, when we will be talking about the solo album, Kickstarter campaign and the facts behind that near-miss with Journey.

But for the moment, as regards the debut release:
“All in all I think it's going to be real solid, with a much broader palate than the melodic rock genre. I believe there's still a market for good, honest music... it just has to carve out its own market these days.”
Which all goes to remind me of how much great music and how many great musicians slip under the radar or don’t get the recognition they deserve as manufactured music and marketable ‘stars’ continue to dominate over genuine or innovative talent.

But don't just take my word for the talents of Mr Hunsicker:
“He was very good… but he was a bit scary because he was almost too much like (Steve) Perry.”
So said Neal Schon, talking about Jeremey’s audition and rehearsal week with Journey.

What does it say about the musical state of play where a singer who is being compared to Steve Perry, was considered for Journey and is writing and performing his own original music, struggles to get that music out the door?
And then had to run a Kickstarter campaign to make it a reality.

But, thanks to fans, backers of a worthwhile musical cause and a number of FabricationsHQ readers (to whom my personal thanks), it has become a reality.

"Stay" is the catchiest song I've heard in a long time.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Thanks so much Rick! I hope the rest of the CD is as well received. I know that being an independent release with no label behind it, not many people are going to end up hearing it, but I think there's some real good songs on there and I'm looking forward to everyone hearing the final product. In fact, the "Stay" single version was mastered by myself, so when the whole record is professionally mastered, the "album" version should sound even better.

Thanks again man!

Is the album going to be released on cd or is it going to be an Itunes only release?
