Whatever they do it needs careful management. A re-release of the whole album is not at all meaningful and not commercial friendly at all...they might come up with something different which would satisfy fans' curiosity....because that's the most probable motive i think... to hear a tune from a different perspective and that's all. The most probable thing is to re-record a couple of tunes and slip them in a new release like bonuses or what , just like the two generations re-records in Revelation, which was not a bad idea...or then what? putting together a GH cd of post Perry re-recorded songs? Not likely...

They're not putting out an album in 2012 from what I read. The band will tour the states but Asia seems a no go and if Europe happens it will be limited to the Festival circuit.

I'm curious as to what happened to Asia. I thought for sure they would play Japan and Manila again. Come to think of it, in those countries, Eclipse might be a reason to be wary of potentially poor concert attendance.

With TNC on this one. Music, for me, is entertainment.......not the news. For most, music is an escape from all that shit. Loved Mellencamp, but more turned off of his stuff lately for that reason. I love Dean's views and what he just wrote was gold. But I agree with you, TNC. Didn't Journey just write a song called 'Winds of Freedom' that actually sucked donkey dick and only played it like, once for the occasion? 'Faith in the Heartland' is supposed to be about Freedom and our troops as well. 'World Gone Wild'? All of what Deano describes up above is all wrapped up in one song out of Journey's enormous catalog. Everyone harps on Journey for making a new album and claims they are nothing but nostalgia anymore but turns around and wants them to create something they've created time and time again if you listen closely.

Journey has been in this mega-rock business and has churned out their best YEARS ago, but yet, still puts out relevantly good, new music to the fan regardless if you like it or not. To my understanding and from what I've seen, Journey is still a hot-circuit in the touring world and more and more of new fans are showing up to concerts. Of course they are there to see the dirty dozen, but why not keep making music for their own sake and play it anyhow to keep people like ME happy (I love their new material and believe they should play it MORE rather than less!) I love Eclipse, some people don't but what Journey did with that album is refreshing because what they did with Eclipse is something fans say they NEVER do and for that, I'm glad they went with it.

Odds are I'd find things that come up more on a regular basis that have become common knowledge over the years. In times past with the few brief conversations we've had, there's been implications that there's more, but something prevents delving into it. Always great to hear him chime in though anyway.
