Dude, put down the beer. When Dio can do what Bruce has done, get back to me. While Dio has the better pipes, Bruce has improved ten fold over the course of his career. Dio isn't 1/10 th the songwriter Bruce is; RjD isn't half the front man BS is(then again, no one is as good a frontman as Bruce, then or now. Sorry Deb Martin sucks compared to the Boss. Oh and Edward, while I think Dio definitely kicked ass, he never was on the "level" Bruce played/plays on.

Sorry, I had to put this into perspective.

Shut up Nora. Don't get your jizz filled panties up in a twist and come here saying espee was a better frontman than Bruce. I love Perry, but he is nowhere close to Springsteen as a frontman. I still think your old man looks like Injun Joe on a 3 week bender.

The only thing that would've been cooler in that video would've been if KISS played a seconds of Heaven and Hell before ripping into Firehouse.

Your misperception is that Dio's career started with Black Sabbath.

Before Black Sabbath, he was in the first incarnation of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.

Before Rainbow, he was in Elf.

And before Elf, he was in many other bands.

Dio goes WAY back, with a career that eclipses many other rockers.'

Vocally, Dio blows away Springsteen (who isn't even rated as a "vocalist," with that gravel he's always gargling).

And give me a break, Dio is the ULTIMATE frontman. What does Spruce Bringspain do? Grimace in pain and raise his guitar? Wow, that's original. Good thing he has Nils on guitar since Bruce can't play his "at that level."

Songwise, Dio and BS (funny, look at his initials!) couldn't be further apart so you shouldn't even be comparing them. "Tunnel Of Love"? LOL

Good, but not great. Personally I think he is a good person, who puts his money where his mouth is, and finances many good genuine causes around the world. hell, the guy has the ear of the president of the United States.

And Versilibre, Button the Fuck up. I said Dio was awesome, but he isn't nearly the best. I told you who the best was and it ain't just me talking either. Bruce's peers constantly refer to him as the best, and that is the real benchmark of one's greatness. Ed knows where i am coming from, and he didn't get pissed.

By the way, you just proved you don't know dick- Tunnel of love is a great great record. Even that smarmy down under rat Andrew graded it high. Oops, maybe that isn't such a good thing after all.

Good song but pound for pound one of Bruce's worst albums in my opinion. Still worlds better than the turd known as Eclipse, however.

I love both Dio and Springsteen. Consider them completely different performers genre wise though. Both great operating in different solar systems.

Waaa, waaa. Who's getting pissed? Just because you blow your stack whenever anybody slights "The Boss" doesn't mean the next guy's browneye collapses inward into nothing like a black hole in space when you diss his favorite musical artists.

Spruce is "the best" at what? Singing? Nope. Vocal melodies? Nope. Lyrics? Nope. Guitar? Nope. But it's all subjective, isn't it?

Bruce's "peers." Who's that? Tom Petty? Another overrated guy whose band makes him what he is. Don Henley? Big whoop, he sucks. "Boys Of Summer" and select other Henley-penned tunes, Joe Walsh's contributions notwithstanding, are among my most-hated rock songs.

60 year old Bruce crowd surfing when he played our 11,000 seat shithole arena in Baltimore in 2009.

(Bruce is a damn good front man)

Back to what I was getting at. RJD in one of his final performances. He had lost a bit, but still ridiculously good, pushing age 70.

(Long Iommi guitar intro to this one, but well worth it)

For his age, to be able to still sing at that level is amazing.

That clip is Ronnie well into his 60's. This next clip (studio video) is him in his late 30's with Rainbow . A lot to live up to, but just shows how incredible he was for a very long time.

For me, I guess it would depend on what criteria you're using to judge "frontman". Let me say this...I'm a Springsteen fan. Always have been and always will be. I actually dated a woman in my early twenties who hated Springsteen. I told her how un-American it was to not like Springsteen. That said, I think Perry was a far better singer. I certainly give the nod to Bruce for doing it for far longer. Bruce can certainly sing, but he never had a voice that made me just have to know who was behind the lyrics the first time I ever heard him the way Perry did (for me). Hell, I couldn't believe Perry was a dude, hitting notes like he hit!

Which brings back my earliest memory of Journey. I asked if that was a woman singing, god knows what song it was, but was told, in fact, that it was a guy named Steve Perry.
