Oakland is probably the best of those teams, but they're not going to scare anyone. They are a team that has been self-destructing for most of the past 20 years! Hell, I'm not sure they ever make it through an NFL season without being the most penalized team in the NFL.

WTF????
My post was simply reminding Trav of the horrible NFC West last season. We all know you're the smartest NFL guy to ever post on the internet, but try to follow along. No one said the AFC West were world beaters this year.

The Raiders going into Houston to get a win was pretty huge. Of course that'd be nothing to speak of for the mighty Patriots. (Being a Michigan guy, I love Brady but I can't wait til he retires, then Billy hit's the door soon after)

Go fuck yourself dude. I never claimed to be the smartest anything, anywhere, jackass! I wasn't even addressing your comment. I was addressing Matt's comment that the NFL needed to change their rules if another sub-500 team made the playoffs. If you're looking to be sensitive, do it somewhere other than a football thread! Go take some fucking Midol and relax. Oh, and one other thing, if you've read any of my posts, you know damn well that I don't think there is anything remotely "mighty" about the Patriots this season!

At least the Raiders are 6-4 even w/o their top offensive player in D Mc. The rest of the division has been very hot and cold though, alot of win and loss streaks.

RWF, how can you quote my post for saying that and totally miss what I said in the very next sentence? Here's what I said afterwards :

Crazy. Though, who ever thought the Seahawks could beat New Orleans last season? Home games matter.

Though, I do disagree with John at the simple fact to not call Oakland a non-issue come playoff time. I actually think they pose a serious threat to all contenders in the AFC, whether it be New England, Pittsburgh, Baltimore or Houston at the moment. I sure as hell wouldn't want to travel to Oakland, with that type of running game and a pretty solid overall defense to contend with. Not to mention Carson Palmer already being a major upgrade over Campbell in just a couple games. McFadden pose's a threat to any run defense so it's very interesting to see if Oakland can win the division and see how they will respond for a home playoff game. Hard to believe San Diego, K.C & Denver is still in the race.

May I suggest the "quote" button in the upper right hand corner? I didn't realize you were talking about last years NFC West while talking about the AFC West sucking and not beating anyone this year.

I read it. But the fact that Seattle pulled one out of their ass and beat the Saints doesn't change the putrid season the NFC West had last year. None of those teams could get out of their own way. You're probably too young to remember all the pathetic teams in the NFC Central back in the 80's and early 90's. (Lions, Packers, Vikings, Bucs, and Bears) Horrible football.

I'm curious to see how Palmer progresses the rest of the year. I think there may be a team or 2 who wouldn't want to face them in the post-season.

And may I suggest you not be a whining douche because someone offends your team. It's okay to say that your own team can't get out of its own way, dude. Again, the Raiders have been the most penalized team in the NFL for 20 freakin' years. Not to mention, there isn't a team in the league who has a history of giving away more high draft picks for a pair of used cleats. The Raiders shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone, including you and Travis. I don't take the Patriots remotely seriously as a playoff contender this season, and you don't hear me crying like a little bitch over it. The AFC is down, but at the end of the day, when the playoffs roll around, teams like the Raiders give away too many yards to beat any good teams in the playoffs.

I think it would behoove them to lose at least two games before the postseason.

Who knows at this point on taking the Raiders seriously because they are very much capable of drowning themselves out of the race just as much as K.C, Denver & San Diego. Anybody could come out of that division and take it but if it would be ANYBODY to fear (and I say that lightly) out of the AFC WEST, it would be Oakland. I'd rather travel to Denver, K.C or San Diego than I would Oakland. Oakland has the most balance out of any one of those teams that is atleast a threat in the playoffs, especially the running game where they could push a team around with clock management and T.O.P. I'm not saying they would go far, but for any team entering Wild-Card Weekend, the Raiders would be a worthy upset.

I'd love to see them go 19-0 just to get more folks in Wisconsin saying, "Brett who?"

The more Tebow wins, the more insufferable his Bible Thumping, Jesus Freak fans will become. I still can't believe an NFL team has a guy playing QB who can't throw a pass.

What's with all the Tebow hate? I'm not a fan of the Broncos (heck my team is barely an NFL team anyway) and not necessarily a fan of Tebow per se, but the guy's winning. It might be short lived and certainly if you're playing QB in the league, you HAVE to be able to throw the ball on a consistent basis, but I have to say, it's interesting to see the man lead his team to victories in spite of all the criticism he's been getting. Heck, even John Elway and John Fox aren't sold on him, but I have to give him props for finding some way to put those horses in the win column. The Redskins can't even auction off John Riggins' old jock straps to buy a win!

They're apparently sold enough, given that they just cut the guy who was their starting QB coming into the season. Honestly, a guy like Tebow isn't hard to beat. He constantly runs a very predictable QB draw (because he simply can't throw the football). If opposing defenses would simply stop blitzing the guy, he'd lose every game!

I want to respect what he's doing so badly. I was known for "finding ways to win" too, and I respect people who maximize their talent like that. But the constant god shit is just awful. What kind of sick god would be sitting there on a Thursday night, interfering with a 4-5 and 5-4 football team's game, making sure Darelle Revis would forget how to tackle to ensure some overgrown virgin NFL QB gets to successfully pull off his 2 minute drill?

So it's more about the man's Christianity then his abilities to play in the NFL? Come on man...that's just not right.

He's annoying. Plain and simple. I am Catholic (in name at least) and have some extended family who take religion more seriously than I do. I don't have a problem with that. But he's an NFL player, not a priest. It's just flat-out annoying to hear that crap.

I was watching that Broncos/Jets game. How I got through 3 QRTS and 14:00 of the 4th QRT I don't know, both teams are RANK. When Tebow started his heroic, best drive ever in sports history to win a football game, I seriously was just wishing and hoping someone would tackle this guy and end this travesty. I was watching through the cracks of my fingers and texting Matt that God is on the field tonight with Timmy. As soon as Mr. 4 completed pass's scored, I then had to eliminate another week of my football programs because Tebow gets more air-time than any other team in the NFL. What was hilarious was when he ran on the sidelines, not giving one ounce of a fuck about his teammates to kneel there, Te-bow, and pray for 20 minutes. Can't stand it. Worst QB ever. He's just getting lucky and is only temporary. That offense is more predictable than any 8 year old termite team running the booleg every play. Even Elway is sick of this shit, lmao.

Tebow gets SO much fucking coverage on ESPN's First Take, it is sickening to listen to Skip Bayless suck his cock every day. Every other topic is about Tim. And yesterday Tebow called in to to the show, and you could see Skip's erector set plain as day....only thing is - Behshad wasn't there to wipe away the white stuff....sickening.

Did you notice how the Jets defense played the whole game and shut him down in a 3-4 defense, to keep him from running. Then some genius for the Jets decides to rush 3 and drop 8 into coverage on the final drive against a QB that can't throw.

How ignorant is that????

That 3rd and 5 was all out, safety blitz. They brought atleast 9 guys or so it seemed. All the safety had to do was have outside contain and at the very worst, force Timmy to go inside with the football for his d-lineman to scrap up. Instead, the idiot crash's down hard and Jesus himself just ran right around him and was off to the races. Corners had no chance since they were maned up on the outsides. Noone was there. That was the safety's play to make and he fucked up not only the game on that single play, but possibly the Jets chances as a W.C.

That's actually the point I'm trying to make. I mean, we've heard so much about Tom Brady to the point where I want to puke. Same for Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Michael Vick, etc....I don't mind hearing about Tim Tebow, especially since this is his first season of getting to start. It will get old to me as well, since honestly, I'd rather hear about how the Redskins are a great team and going all the way (yes I know I'll have to wait awhile for that) rather than to constantly hear about Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Romo, etc....
