Naaaa...I'm not depressed...it's game...and the Steelers got out smarted...John actually said something either earlier this season or last season about Polamalu being to agressive, taking too many risks while leaving his pass D assignment and getting burned because of it...Tebow made him pay. Enough said.

Steelers has a decent year...I'll take it.

The Steelers have a lot of moves to make this off-season. I'm eager to see which direction we go as far as needs for the NFL draft and maybe, hopefully, we can fill a need, particularly on the O or D line in free agency. Highly unlikely, but judging by how many moves that are going to be made with our veterans, free agency might not be too bad of an idea considering a need. Our philosophy must change as well. Pretty disturbing Ben has been throwing it for 40 times on a high ankle sprain, while Redman was having a nice time on the ground but yet, the Steelers just ignored and shot out our run game at the end there. Arians is the master of the non-adjustment.

I knew this would be trouble for the Steelers even before the injuries, Ryan Clark, and the RB coach distraction (tragic story):

Now, in fairness, I also did say "If the NFL figured Vince Young out, they'll certainly figure Tim Tebow out." I stand by that.

But in the here and now, I just had a feeling when this was the possible scenario several weeks ago (think 2 or 3 weeks left in the season) that this game would pose a huge problem for the Steelers:

He has led the Denver Broncos to one improbable victory after another—defying his critics and revealing the deep-seated anxieties in American society about the intertwining of religion and sports.

I can't remember if it was Rome or a local radio guy who said it. But yesterday, someone called him the "most polarizing GOOD guy in sports history." lol. Sounds about right.

At this point, you gotta start wondering about the Broncos' playoff chances. They are favorites to win the division right now, and they'd of course have homefield in the first game. Could be a huge trap for whichever wild card team goes into Denver. Hell, if Seattle could beat the Saints at home last year, anything can happen.

Hmm. Just punched in the playoff scenario. If they started today, it would be the Steelers heading to Denver  . I don't see that being the final scenario, but I could see the Steelers having trouble in this matchup. The Steelers don't put up tons of points (usually), Denver's D has been very good, and the Steelers CAN get tripped up by gimmick shit from time-to-time (e.g., Cribbs running the wildcat all over them in 2009).

Matthew ALL OVER IT. Chalk it up for your Browns as well. Steelers turmoil started that Thursday night when Cleveland jacked Ben's ankle, and then Pouncey's (Pouncey's backup, Legursky, had a bad game today) and then again with Mendenhall blowing his knee. It's either lose to Tebow with a banged up team by 6 or get dismantled by Brady again by 30, haha. Steelers have a chance to get healthy. Would be nice to see the o-line come together for once.

Just for the record....and those who know me already know this, but I have been a Broncos fan all my life. I have loved the Broncos through the (few and far between) good years and the bad years. I still remember, I believe it was Shannon Sharpe, announcing in '97, "We goin' to da bowl!" There was a big party at our house for SB XXXII!! Ah, good times!

Now, I just say this because I see Broncos fans coming out of the woodwork everywhere! People that bash me for Bronco loving are now posting on FaceBook what big fans they are. For me, Tebow is just a bonus...I'm a Broncos fan first and a Tebow fan second.

The Steelers aren't really measured by playoff appearances since they rank atop of the league with the most playoff births. Teams like the Bengals, Texans, and Broncos are just thrilled to qualify for the post-season and winning is an added bonus. Here in Pittsburgh, the bar is through the roof and the Steelers are measured by championships so for a team like Denver to knock us out is a huge step up for the Broncos organization and something to build on since beating teams like the Steelers is the standard (Denver has another standard of the league to beat next week in New England.) That said, it was sad to see all the coverage with Pittsburgh's film crew in Denver and barely seeing any Broncos jersey's. When they did find Broncos fans, their interviews had them thinking they had NO chance at beating Pittsburgh so it's kind of silly to now see the dedicated Broncos fans come out of their hole they were living in. Regardless, I'm glad you're experiencing some football excitement. Every football fan should!

Yep was there...was a fantastic run....I never complained when Niners finally tanked again...we had our run and we loved every second of it....this year has been almost surreal....but nothing tops the first time your team gets good....REALLY good.....:)

Thanks, buddy! The 9'ers will always be a classic franchise, regardless of their slump within the last decade or so. They are pretty much the only chance in the NFC to prove that defense wins championships. I wouldn't mind any NFC winning it this season and I think San Fran has a shot if they bring their A-game on the defensive side of things.

Umm, nice try AR but that won't happen. If supercracker get's by Denver it will be the GB vs NE. Nice story on the supercracker in his Michigan days in SI.

Ravens have beaten New England in the playoffs in their house before. They have as good as shot as anyone. Let me have my dream.

Anything can happen. For me, the Ravens aren't that much different than the Steelers in that they have a good defense, that is aging and not nearly as feared as it once was. The Ravens play defense. The Patriots don't. It would definitely a matchup of complete opposites, so if that is the matchup, it will simply come down to what kind of game unfolds. The bottom line for the Patriots is that if they play the Ravens and can score points, the Ravens don't have a chance. If the Ravens show up with their "A" game on defense and keep it a very low scoring game, it definitely favors the Ravens.

Wow, so nobody thinks the Giants have a chance of getting to the SB? I admit it's a long shot, but it was a long shot in 2008, too, and they got there, and won. And they're definitely peaking at the right time this season. Of course, they started out pretty badly against the Falcons, but once they found their rhythm, they were great. They'll need to find their rhythm sooner when they play the Packers next week.
Also, keep in mind that the last time they played the Packers, they only lost by a field goal.

Every team has a "shot", but some are less likely than others. I think for NY, it will be very difficult to win at Green Bay AND New Orleans - I'm assuming the Saints beat the 49ers, of course! ;)

Of course they have a shot. Every team still playing does. That said, out of the four remaining teams in the NFC, I would say they are third on the list of the teams who I think can get to The Super Bowl. As a Patriots fan, I would like nothing more than for the Giants and Patriots to both get there.

Quit it with the 2008 crap. They weren't underdogs in 42. AGAIN, NE barely beat them in the last game of the regular season. The best compliment I can give NY in '08 is they kept NE under 40 points. The fact is, they got help from the refs, point blank. multiple holds on that last series....

another fact: this year's NY team is 10X better that the '07 team.

Did anyone else catch the shot of Elway on the sidelines, in a suit, putting chapstick on? Talk about an un-manly looking shot. I had to laugh at that.

I heard they are still cleaning up John Harbaugh's living room from the Gatorade bath he received when Tebow knocked the Steelers out  No matter how you look at it, I feel the Packers or Saints are destined for the Lombardi this season. Any AFC team is just a a plant to keep the field warm for an offensive explosion from Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers.

If Pittsburgh advanced, the injury bug continued. Max Starks (left tackle) tore his ACL. Casey Hampton (the rock in the 3-4 defense) tore his ACL and Brett Keisel (defensive end) tore his groin. Not a chance. Time for Pittsburgh to chop dead meat. Regroup and reload. I'm actually glad this loss happened. The Steelers have major decisions to make. I'm eager to see what our front office does to correct it! Bring on the 2012 draft. Exciting to build and reload.

Please don't let this be a year where strange things happen and we end up with a San Francisco vs. Houston super bowl, lol.

I'd love to see New Orleans vs. New England or maybe Green Bay vs. Baltimore

I think this year we may just see one of the highest scoring games yet especially if two high powered offenses face off.

Hilarious shot though--plus, wasn't he smearing it on with his finger instead of a chapstick tube?

I agree. Archie Manning just did a radio interview and he is the closet to Peyton than anybody, and also the most outspoken on the subject. He went as far to say that Peyton may not even suit up again next year, even though he's working hard in rehab. His neck is a damaged good. Not worth the injury risk.

The body of Packers OC Joe Philbin's son, Michael, was discovered and identified in Oshkosh, Wisconsin's Fox River after a police search Monday.

It's believed Michael Philbin, 21, fell through the ice early Sunday. His body was found in roughly 15 feet of water, 30 yards from shore, at around 4PM ET Monday. Michael's friends in Oshkosh filed a missing person's report Sunday night after he was nowhere to be found throughout the day. Joe Philbin, Green Bay's fifth-year offensive coordinator, is currently away from the team. Source: Oshkosh Northwestern Jan 9 - 5:51 PM

Some macabre side stories this postseason, to be sure. Hopefully it was just a drunken accident and nothing more sinister.
