It was two completely separate phrases. One was not a translation of the other. Gobshite is actually an Irish phrase.

I was just kidding Duncan, but thanks for the come back with humor. I thought since you can take a jab at Arkansas "inbreeding" at me..........a little bad teeth joke would suffice.

And we don't use the phrase dunny here. It is an Aussie thing. He did not have to explain it the way it was said that was what I meant.

Even England has phrases not used in the U.S. A bonnet is a hat here, where a bonnet is the hood of a car in England. Someone would have to explain the translation of term to one who did not know that an Englishman looked under his bonnet for a distributor cap, would be looking under the HOOD of his car. ;)
