Well that sucked.
The only hope now for a good day is that the Giants somehow manage to come through with a win.

Wow. Reminds me of when the Raiders' Jim Breech missed a ch
ip shot in the playoffs in the late 70's.

No Shit! My buddy was sitting here and he said "Damn he's pretty"

And that National Anthem was definetly missing some Joe "Motherfuckin'" Perry too. Tyler is the last singer that ought to be singing acapella.

Luckily, I missed the destruction of the National Anthem....I was doing woman's work in the kitchen at that time.

Unbelieveable game. The Patriots did something that I was convinced they were incapable of doing...winning a game that Tom Brady completely sucked in. Brady was fucking DREADFUL. It proves once again that football is a game of inches. One inch the other way in 2007, and David Tyree doesn't make that catch, and the Patriots finish undefeated. I respect the hell out of the Ravens defense. They were TOUGH. I thought Joe Flacco played very well. Bring on the Giants or 49'ers. I'm not sure that my heart can take another game like that. The good news for Patriots fans is that I simply can't fathom Brady playing another game quite that bad.

I thought it was pretty awesome that he said "I sucked really bad but luckily the defense came through for us." It truly was a game of inches....well, except for that humiliating attempt at a field goal, that certainly wasn't within inches....

What a horrible call. Davis was clearly out of bounds. The officiating in the NFL is dreadful every week now it seems.

To Brady's credit, he's never made excuses about anything throughout his career. He was awful, and he knew it. I agree with you that it was actually refreshing to hear an athlete say something that they never say.

1. Flacco was surprisingly good and was one Lee Evans's boneheaded refusal to just simply go down away from becoming a playoff hero. Doubt he can repeat it though. He still sucks til further notice

2. Brady was surprisingly bad. I was watching his ball sail all day and after the game, I wondered if his shoulder injury isn't more severe than we know. Lack of control is indicative of an arm problem. Could be a huge issue.

Is it? If so, color me retarded. Maybe it was just him struggling against a defense he's historically struggled a bit with.

Brady does indeed always struggle with Baltimore, especially considering that I think he has only lost against them once in his career. Aside from the wins, the rest of his numbers against them are awful. It's not really surprising when you consider how great the Ravens defense has been for a decade. As I said previously, they have some historically great players. Players like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed on the same team almost isn't even fair. When you add guys like Ngata and Suggs, it's really unfair! These guys are TOUGH to play against. The more I watch the Niners, the more I think the Patriots are going to struggle as much with their defense, if they get by the Giants.

Really? I had no idea he'd only lost against them once. That's crazy. I don't have any specific memories other than the playoff beating a few years ago, but it just would seem that would be a bit more even of a H2H

I saw that. I didn't realize that the punt couldn't be advanced. That's a really odd rule. To me, if it touches the offensive player, it's now a live ball. Such is life. The rule is the rule.

I certainly didn't know that either, and the rule seems nonsensical at best. Looks like the Giatns have a good chance to punch it in for 6 anyway.

The Giants really need to smarten up and double down hard on Vernon Davis. I don't think the 49ers can get another TD if they stop Davis (unless Gore breaks for a huge run).

It looked pretty bad on the replay. It looked like his ankle got snapped in half. That said, he came back into the game, so it must not be as bad as it looked on film.

Wow. Kyle Williams is a CHUMP. Cleveland-esque pain just got inflicted on 9ers fans... first the muffed punt and now this. Wow.

Would be somethin' to see Eli Manning win his second Super Bowl on Peyton's turf. Not only would a Giants win mark Eli 2-0 versus Brady in the Super Bowl, but the Patriots would lose to a New York team. Double whammy. GO G-MEN! Going to be a superb Super Bowl. One I wanted to see out of all the scenario's once the Saints and Packers bailed out.

I think they treat it as a muff, since the receiving team didn't establish position. I know the rule about not advancing a muff has been around forever.

That's it. His only loss against the Ravens was the playoff game two years ago. He is 5-1 lifetime against the Ravens, but he has 8 interceptions and only 6 TD's against them, which makes his record against them astonishing.
