Andrew, I'm a part-time musician who has a great career. Even if I DID do music for a living, I would never let myself be talked down to or degraded to make a buck. This is not the first time he has provoked me on here, and the only reason I posted it publicly is because he threatened not to work with me publicly over the whole Jeremey thing. I don't need someone like him. I don't NEED to make it in this business. I just do it for fun, and the way he has talked to me is ridiculous. The last time I spoke to him over the phone he talked like shit to me. "you sent a fucking MP3 file?????? Are you fucking CLUELESS???". Yeah... I'm apparently clueless enough to work with a complete self-obsorbed asshole.

You completely hosed Alex and I over by promising to put us on the last album, and having us jump through hoops to get our song finished by your deadline just to have you blow us off afterwards and act like you forgot. Listening now. It's got really good parts and some that make me cringe. Half great/Half annoying. And i generally can take Dave for what he is. I respect him for trying and actually being the sane one for a change. But some things he shouldn't try to do/recreate.

Great to hear!! I'm excited by these full versions, but can't wait to hear the album-quality versions. I can already tell by "Bullethead" that I don't like ALL of the songs, but so far I really like a bunch of them.

I'll calmly drive down to the local mall, calmly walk in, calmly pick up and pay for it, calmly run walk back to my ride, rip the motherfucker open, put it on 40 and ROCK my a** all the way back home. Then I will calmly take it out, put in back in when I get inside and play it all day long, over and over and over. No one's gonna spoil my little part of the world on that day, NO ONE!

I've played it 3 times tonight. Fun listen. It's not Led Zeppelin IV or anything but it's a worthy addition to their catalog and in the year 2012 that is almost astounding.

VH 1984 was the cassette that got me into music in 4th grade. Then, DLR left. I waited 20+ years hoping he'd come back into the fold and I could see VH together on stage again. Then EVH booted MA out. So, Wolfie's in. I paid a lot of money for a nosebleed seat to see 3/4 of VH in '07. I wasn't blown away, but it cool seeing what I envisioned as a kid (minus MA, of course).

It's funny how us fans become critics so quickly.

I've read some reviews and listened to a few YouTube snippets. I'll get the thing on Tuesday and play it a few times. It's 2012, and those guys (VH) will do what they want and obviously, they have. It's time to evolve, and they knew it better than any of us. Sure, they re-worked some old demos and all. So what? For years people were complaining they did not put anything out-now they have and those same people are complaining. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but that sounds pretty American to me.

Also, look at the chatter around the globe about this album and their band! Does that happen when other bands put something out? Did people give this many shits when the Eagles got back together and made their sleeper of an album years ago? NO.

VH has commanded quite a presence within the industry all these years, and in my opinion, they are still kings.

That only works if you aged and she didn't. That's the one thing I hate about FB. Reconnecting with these images I had in my head all these years only to find out they got old too.

But with the VH album, they seemed to have stayed young for the most part on this one. Such a clean, crisp mix which always helps.

Let what go?
I'm not harboring any ill will towards EVH and the boys. I've been a huge VH fan for over 30 years (A dirty little secret is that I am a greater VH fan than I ever was a Journey fan) and EVH is the direct reason I am a guitarist.


The fact of the matter is that there are no songs (good, bad or otherwise) on this record. It's crap. To my ears, there's one good song, that's it. The rest sound like late 70s demo rejects that were rehashed. Ironically, that's not too far from the truth. However, EVH and co failed to consider that they should have left 35 year old rejected songs in the past, where they belong.

I should not, as a fan, be forced to consider their age, their absence or any other mitigating factor here when demanding a good product from them or any other band. When they release a pile of rat excrement, I will react accordingly. When they release a great album, I will react accordingly.

Too many people are so enamored with the fact that VH released something, anything at all, to stop and listen to the quality of the piece of shit that was released.


This is Journey Eclipse all over again. Diarrhea gets released, fanbois start having orgasms at the mere thought of drinking said diarrhea....guzzle it all down in a frosty mug, without realizing what they're gulping down.....
