I'm downloading the complete show now. Should have it in a few hours. Dave does sound good.

I was a bit worried after watching those rehersal vids you posted. Thankfully that was just bad audio. This one rocks, can't wait to see more.

I knew it would sound better with full production.

DLR is a silly individual, but the chemistry with Eddie is undeniable. It's still fun.

Been playing ADKOT since I got it. Really better than I expected. Only one lackluster track.

That's some of the best video on YT I've ever seen, felt like I was at the show. Romeo Delight a killer tune, vintage Halen. When I watched the video I felt

some remorse. I guess it's because I remember how it was and that is very hard to recapture.

Ed's certainly the real deal this tour. I can't think of any other top name guitarists his age that are playing with this kind of fire and exuberance. Thank God he has recovered from his substance abuse problems. He could have ended up like Whitney Houston. Instead, we have a resurrection of this great talent :D Didn't think it was possible.

It's cool. I would love the show to begin with Edward playing Eruption, shaded, then the spotlight shines down on him, near the end, Ed whammy's it down, Dave

does a split jump off the drum riser and they go right into Running with the Devil. Now, that is cool and that was what it was all about.

Yeah, the lyrics to that tune are so over-done. That being said, the solo is really good. You can really hear the Clapton influence on that one.

Panama, Ed Solo, Ain't Talking 'bout Love and Jump.

I'm loving this dude who filmed this, and check out DLR doing Jim Morrison during Panama...LOL! Great stuff here folks.

Oh yeah, the dude said he's still editing parts 2 and 3 which I hope he puts on YT soon.

Eddie was feeling good, jumping around and all smiles after his solo. He knew he nailed it and the audience was eating it up. His guitar was out of tune when they went into Ain't Talkin Bout Love though.

I know DLR doesn't sound too good in the vocals department, but he's out there doing it, and it's just great to see them all together again.

As I said on one of Ed's Facebook posts...I'll take Roth with his sometimes out-of-tune shouted vocals any day over some note-perfect self-important urban yodeling pop star any day of the week.

Van Halen Allowing Fans To Shoot Photos & Video At Shows

David Lee Roth has just informed VHND.com that the band is “totally okay with” fans shooting photos or video at the shows during their 2012 tour, which kicks off this Saturday, Feb. 18th, in Louisville, KY. So knock yourselves out and take all the pictures and videos you want! Just keep in mind that we are talking cell phones or small cameras only. Professional cameras or video equipment wouldn’t be allowed into venues. (Of course, this might not be quite as easy as it sounds…venue security people might not all be on the same page. For example, at the Van Halen rehearsal held at the Forum last week, outdoor security were adamant that no cameras are allowed, but security inside had no problem with people filming or shooting).

This could be great.

Will keep them honest, hopefully.

That is the awesomeness of Van Halen. Doesn't matter who is opening for them. They already have 14 sellouts and the tour just started.

Damn! I really wanted to see them this tour, but $162 per ticket !! Grrrrrrrrr  ("ONLY" $100 last tour)

I did see them the last time around with Roth and it was great. But on this tour they are playing like their life depended on it.

Yeah, you look at that pairing and kind of scratch your head, but I think it would be fun to see Kool and the Gang. I would prefer someone, maybe like Eddie Money or Joan Jett to open though.

Saw the show at the Palace of Auburn Hills last night. Great show. Everyone was on point. I had great $60 seats, lower bowl straight across from the stage.

Looking at their set list, I guess Hagar wasn't wrong when he said that Roth had ZERO chance of singing (at least well) any of his era Van Halen music. Interesting that they don't play a single track from that era, given that 5150 is one of their most successful albums ever!

Sammy only sang 4 of Dave's songs. And he half assed those.

Cherone was the only singer who did both catalogs live.

There isn't a song in the VH catalog that Sammy can't sing. I'm telling you flat out...Roth cannot sing the Hagar catalog of music. Dude is simply incapable. Great showman, but that's about it. For the record, I don't dislike some of the older VH music with Roth. I was just never impressed by the guy as a singer. Roth is a lot like Joe Elliott to me. Both of the fuckers can sing a whole lot better than I could ever dream of singing. That said, there is nothing about either guy that makes you really notice their vocals (like a Perry or Ann Wilson...and these days Adele). I personally liked the music of the Hagar years a lot more as well, but I'm not sure if that is tied to Sammy's voice or that I just thought it was better music. I actually thought 5150 was Van Halen's best album, ever, with any of their collection of singers.

Sammy CAN, but he wouldn't. I went to the 5150 tour and felt ripped off because I WANTED to hear Sammy's take on more of the back catalog. Not playing "Hot For Teacher"? Really? Alex asked Cherone when he joined if he was only going to sing the "fatal four" (or something like that).

Actually I liked Balance and Carnal Knowledge much more than 5150 or OU812 which both sound dated to me but that's personal preference. I thought the band progressed well with Sammy until Eddie flipped his lid and went off the wagon.

Right, but Sammy just pulled down a cool $80 Million when he sold stake in Cabo Wabo Tequila. He just does what he wants to do and he's earned it.
