Drewsky, I hope you plan on keeping all his posts here , cause some of the most classic comments ever made here (and on the internet for that matter) were typed by RockinDeano.

I hope so too. I have seriously fell out of my chair laughing more than once. Really going to miss his sense of humor....

Sad to hear.... based on his MR persona... Deano always struck me as a man of his own convictions... I always respected him for that. We all fight.. its part of how this place works... but in the end we all still belong to the same family... and Deano is, and will always be a part of it, and will be missed.

Right now Dean and his son are sittin' with Jimmy, Stevie Ray, Randy R, John Bonham, and Bon - yukking it up... and enjoying some great tunes...

No past-tense in this post for me.. because as long as we remember Deano... he still lives.

I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

Rest well Deano, and say hey to SRV for me...

I was extremely bothered by this news today... I only had the chance to meet him once, and we hit it off quite well. He was only a little over a year older than me, and that alone reminds me that our life cannot be taken for granted - anything can happen to anyone, at any time.

Fate is often cruel, and for Dean, the timing could not have been worse - apparently he was really getting himself back together, and becoming the person he knew he needed to be for his family. I am so, so very sorry for the loss to Lula and Wyatt right now. :(

I need to add an addendum. Some folks brought to my attention that they were not sure if it was suicide or not. It was not suicide. It was natural causes.

As I said in the initial post, Dean was working on getting his life back on track, and working hard at it. He had reached out to many people and was making a great effort.

I can honestly say that the MR forums will never be the same for me without Deano here...but that I know he will be reading them from where ever he is and pitching a fit when I go on one of my conservative jags, I just wish I could hear or read them when it happens.

Man, this is like being kicked in the stomach & balls at the same time. I remember being fairly new on here and Deano, I think this was after Behshad & Dave

were ripping me to shreds, Deano sent me the first & only pm I've ever gotten. He said, "Man don't let them get the upper hand, they'll never let up. Your a

good poster, you just need to post more." Coming from him meant a whole fucking lot. I'll miss him. One of the funniest motherfuckers on a message board that

I have ever read! His story or rant after Qatar was awarded the world cup was a fucking classic. Ebake said it best. I think we ALL have fell out of our chair once

or twice busting with laughter. LuLU & Wyatt, my condolences, he was an original that cannot be replaced!

I knew it  Man as sad as this is, its comforting to think about all the fun he provided us during his short time here. He had an amazing mind and such great ways to formulate the most hilarious sentences ever.

I am adding Deano's favorite kitty to the mix in my av. Long story. Deano used to rag me about adding LOL cats a lot. Used to be fun back and forth battle with them. This was the one cat that cracked him up to no end. You made me smile big guy, thank you for all the laughs. I am going to miss you something awful.

Early on I didn't care for Rockin'Deano. I thought he was a bully. And far more vulgar than necessary. After years of learning to remove the "emotion" out of my Journey postings and trying to get others to do the same (in some way I was hoping to end the bloodshed of the Perry/Journey wars) he came in and threw it all out. That bothered me. But then I had an opportunity to "meet" Dean. As has been stated, they were two very different people. And to me, Dean was a stand up guy.

This is sad sad news and I pass my condolences to Lulu (and, of course, Wyatt)

I remember that.

I made an avatar for Dean about 4 years ago or so... maybe just under... when Jeff 'left' the band. I named it "Mt. Crushmore" - It was all the former Journey singers and the 'mountain' part is Dean's signature toad-guy. I would have changed my avatar to that today in tribute but Dean chose to use that one again just recently and it's still there now as his avatar, so I don't want to use it. It's his forever now. :P

So saddened by this news. My heart goes out to all those that loved Dean. Through the good times and the bad, he has kept a place in my heart. He had this uncanny way of endearing himself to those who were able to spend time with him. If you only knew RockinDeano you only knew half the story.

I'll miss you my friend. :(
