LOL, just kidding dude.

Just want you to know john, you rule as a poster. My anti Boston smack is completely due to S2M. I think that guy is the worst cmplaining sonofabitch around. Please don't take my Boston smack to heart. I love Boston and I love when you rip people to shreds.

Haha, classic Dean. I have some good ones too. I get a kick of of his S2M hate because it was a common thing with him (all due respect to S2M.) He was so genuine face to face as well as in PM's. I figured Deano out early and I laughed my entire ass off once I did when people took him too serious in his rants. From a personal standpoint, he was fucking around 99% of the time with his vulgar-ness (unless he truly despised you) and I took great humor in every one of his post. As soon as I seen "RockinDeano" on the "latest post" section, no matter what thread, it was an AUTOMATIC click for me. Loved the guy and his deflection of down to Earth meets shitting down your mouth in mere seconds. Possibly one of the greatest posters I've ever had the privileged to read from a serious standpoint and from a pure comedic standpoint. He will be missed.

I'll post some of mine.

Classic Dean PM:

fuck you

LOL, no way!

I love fucking with you because you are the coolest guy in the thread. I love your Steeler passion. I despise that whining complaining cuntrag, S2M. You DO handle yourself quite well, and the only reason I bring up a steeler every post is I can count on you for a response and thus keep the thread lively, unlike S2M where we need a botched officiating call for him to be active. he is such a sour pussfuck that i would never have him on my team.

S2M was raggin' on us "comic nerds" one day and Deano felt the need to PM me. Just a little part of his soft side when it came to sticking up for someone:

Comic Books

You collect comic books? I think that is cool dude. Don't let that miserable bastard get you down. hell I have a fucking model railroad. I am not gay either. it relaxes me and is therapuetic. I have scenes that are so fucking realistic, you cant tell if it is a model or if its real, seriously. I take it seriously.

This one had me HOWLING. Typical Dean and his S2M smack:

I told you thusly

Dude..if NE loses, write your smack, and at the end, use the term, "I told you thusly." Hahaha, fuck him!

I agree Travis. All of Dean's posts were a MUST read. Hell, if I were Drew, I would have paid the fucker to post on this board. He was brilliantly funny and there was simply NOBODY like Dean. Just a good dude with a good heart. For all the bullshit and nonsense that we all have to deal with on a daily basis, this really puts things in perspective for me. I genuinely liked the guy more than anyone I have ever met on an internet chat forum and was flattered when he "friended" me on Facebook. Horribly sad news, and this place will never be the same again.

Such great memories!!! I am still in such shock.....a text I wish I had never gotten. Dean was responsible for so many of us meeting and becoming lifelong friends. Thank you, Dean, for that. Prayers to all of Dean's family and loved ones.

Not at all, post them all! Cool to see a pic with Rick and Dean.

Thanks, Ed. It was great to get to meet him and a lot of others I hadn't met before.

When Dean and I were on the outs, he was just so unpredictable. One minute he wants to be friends, the next minute he does a total 180.

Again, that was Dean.

Lori had a good cry over you today. Wish you would have been calling us and asking her what she was wearing like in the old days and asking us if we had an open marriage.

Ok, this made me kind of laugh. I have this pic with my Vegas pics from the dinner table at PF Changs. Dean has on a PENS shirt!! I do NOT remember him wearing a Pens shirt ever, so I guess I was oblivious that night! There was so much going on, and I was excited to finally get to meet Lula and Wyatt. I believe my Pens love was made fun of many a time here on MR! Though he did appreciate them a little after watching the team on that 24/7 HBO special a year ago, he was not a fan. This vegas thing was years before that too. Maybe Lula knows where this shirt came from. It gave me a chuckle I needed tonight! It makes me really wish I had noticed this a really long time ago!!

Wow, I am totally shocked and stunned about this terrible news ... I only met him very briefly at the Pompano show in 2007 ... I am not a major poster here, but I have been reading this forum every day, since Perry was forced out in 1998 and the switch to SA and everything else thereafter ....

The one constant throughout all of the changes here with the band, and the board members at MR - Rockin'Deano / Dean ...

I always knew he was a crazy persona online, but that it was just a facade and that in real life, he was a real family man, who loved Lula, Wyatt and the rest of his family ... I've rarely seen someone as intelligent / knowledgable and passionate as he has been over the years (his political views and rants were and will be classic). Outside of my love for all things Journey, and Andrew's board / information, etc., Dean was the main reason I would come on here every day all of these years, even checking in at work often, just to see what his latest rants / feuds / or just plain ole' inside information he would spew forth ... He was so opinionated, but witty and the rudest SOB you'd ever imagine, but deeply intelligent ...

I never knew what a "Cleveland Steamer" was until he wrote about it here - I fell out of my chair dying from laughter w/ the visuals on that one (even to this day) ... Sorry he didn't get to hear his new Springsteen album, but I know he'll be listening w/ Danny Federici and Clarence, up there, when it comes out ...

RIP Dean - my prayers go out to his family ...

Regards,

Michael G.

I remember him, Lula and Wyatt walking up the steps into the Heart Bar and the first thing I noticed was Dean's Pens shirt. He always has a mad appreciation for the Pens and their organization and LOVED the young guns Crosby and Malkin, especially Crosby. He was also pretty bent out of shape with the entire Crosby-neck saga and felt saddened that Crosby's career "could be done." Hell, I think you'd like this PM to me, Lynn. He mentions catching a Pens game together when he was willing to come to Pittsburgh via train some years ago:

Pittsburgh

Hey trav, how are you?

Listen, I know Dan is in town for a month and yourself and Stu are there too. I think we three could have a bitchin time in Steel Town, and I would love to catch a Pens game. I wonder if Matty could swing by too, and even JFB from Chowd Town, and even Behshad from Ohio, as long as Stu doesn't threaten to kill him. I can probably get B and Matty tickets for free or for as low as 12 bucks, and in B's case, he could simply share my room with me(2 beds).

What you guys think about this?

Man, what a heart wrencher! I'm gonna miss Dean telling me "fuck you Steve", on almost a daily basis, when I first joined here. Fucker, it's ok to drink and pass out, but you gotta remember to un-passout! He was a real spark plug in this community and witty as hell. I'm gonna miss him a bunch. When he struggled, he knew that I was there to talk to via PM. He was really a cool guy off the forums when we spoke by PM. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to meet him in person. I grieve for the loss and my heart goes out to Lula and Wyatt. RIP Dean!

Hey everyone, I am certainly happy to see the outpouring of love for Deano. This is a great tribute to his heart. And if the people who never "got" Deano are posting than they are keeping it respectful. So I gotta say this: those PM's are called "private" for a reason. If you want to share them that's fine, but I think you should consider avoiding calling out other posters. I haven't been around in forever and know Nothing about S2M and his where abouts. But I don't think it's cool rehashing old problems and negativity all in the name of praise. It's sorta like "baiting" and could lead to an end of a beautiful thread for Dean.

Just a thought.

This is sad and shocking news.

Tho there were times when you just didn't know what to do with Deano, now it's hard to imagine what we're going to do without him.

Anyway, those here who knew him personally remember him as a man with a big heart...and that speaks volumes.

My deepest sympathies to Deano's family and friends.

Aw, that's cool to read! He made fun of Crosby at times, but I know when he saw that 24/7 thing, he really did appreciate them as an organization like you said. I remember he was upset, thinking that maybe they played Crosby in a game after knowing he had a concussion though. Maybe it was the winter classic? I can't remember. He was pretty mad at the management after that though. That's funny you remember him wearing that! Maybe he wore it for you!! I don't remember it at all, and when I pulled up these pics I couldn't' believe it!

Oh yeah, first thing I noticed! I was walking down the steps going to get a Starbucks with Rhi and I turned to him and said "Pens?" and he went on this long speech about how "fuckin'" much he respects the Pens organization and how much fiery they were going to unleash on the NHL. He said he loved watching the Pens and they were one of the teams he always looked forward to watching. He loved the city of Pittsburgh as well, always gave it props and said he'd move to Pittsburgh in a "fucking second" but was nauseated how much the city adores the Steelers, lmao. Good stuff.

My last pm from Deano (with names censored)

Subject: Who the fuck
Rockindeano wrote:are these spineless people? They think Journey,in particular Schonbag and Friga walk on water....

That Journey entourage thread made me sick. I simply, TRUTHFULLY commented , and was railroaded by that cocksucker #####...then all the Journey/schon minions rallied and steamrolled me.

This cuntrag ##### took a run at me...I promptly PM'ed her a picture of my rock hard cock....seriously.

Take care bro

Any other person sends me this, and it's just some guy ranting....but knowing Deano, I knew right away that the recipient most definitely got a picture of lil Deano....and all I could do to stop from busting a gut laughing and narfing my drink was to pinch my nose....

The guy talked hard....but that was Deano and he never once compromised that bit of himself. Gotta admire that!

I'm going to miss him!

I do remember him saying good things about Pittsburgh the city! When he found out that I was finally getting to a live game here in Tampa to see the Pens, he messaged me to make sure that I knew to go early and down to the glass to watch them warm up, and maybe we could even get a practice puck. I NEVER would have known I could do that! We did and it was the best and my youngest, who LOVES the Pens, did get her practice puck, and she slept with it for months! I did get to thank him for that though. To this day I'd probably keep going to the games to my seats in the sky not knowing I could do that!

Heavier than any cd Journey has ever done, for that matter. Very modern with heavy guitars/bass, and if you replace Eric Martin for a less melodically-inclined vocalist, it's not far off from a lot of current modern rock bands. I see why a lot of people love it, but give me Magnum any day ;)

Kgdjpubs (fuck, can't you get an easier name to say? I hate typing out your avatar name!), you say this as if i think Journey is heavy. Journey has never put out a heavy record save for Evolution. I am on record as saying Journey aren't even a rock band. I consider them a choppy pop band with a dusting of rock mixed in, but definitely not a true rock band, and that's ok too, not a sin. I am sure Mr. Big would rock Journey's asses into the ground, and I would take Martin's vox over Pineda's anyday too.

When Dean took a stand on something he was unwavering about it. He stood on his convictions and if you were wrong (according to him), you would get your virtual ass handed to you. Gotta respect a guy that holds true to whatever the play is. Look at how much he believes in and loves Bruce.....with a fire burning. I could never successfully mess with that or I would get 2x4 up my butt. :D

OMFG! I am so saddened to hear that Deano passed away! My heart goes out to Lula, Wyatt, and the rest of his family.  As I read all 6 pages of this thread, I am reminded of the time where Dean came up to spend a few days with me and my daughter Bryn, who was then a young girl. ( Bryn now is almost 16 years old) This trip happened just before Dean met Lula. I saw Dean in action on here, posting from my computer. It was a hoot! We had a great time. The next time I saw Dean was when he picked me and Bryn up from the Martinez Amtrak station beccause we were going to see JSS at the ARF show in Walnut Creek. The only things I can remember from that trip was going to a sports bar... and Dean and others were drinking some drink with red bull in it... and it smelled like cough syrup. I also remember Sunshine Twilight falling into a gutter and twisting her ankle when they were crossing the street to their hotel. (If anyone else was there on that trip, feel free to post your memories of that time. My mind is a bit fuzzy on who was all there!)

I will miss Dean like crazy..

RIP my friend... you will be missed.

Ironically, Bruce Springsteen is on Jimmy Fallon right now singing "We Take Care Of Our Own". I'm sure it's a sign from Deano!!

You just had to remind everyone didn't you! LOL
My ankle is STILL messed up from that trip over the storm drain in 4 inch heels, after drinking WAY too many Jager Bombs! I still have video of Dean singing Journey songs into a pool stick! He had Mel, Lynn, I and others in hysterics that night! Good times!! :D

Wow, This is a sad day indeed. Condolences to the family.
