Nah...I wouldn't read anything into it. He's just talking about the band being pathetic and why even bothering with them.

Like many others here, I only had the chance to meet Deano in person once, and am really glad I did. Anyone with a sense of humor appreciated his sharp wit and passion for what he believed in. He definitely left a lasting impression on those who crossed his path. My heart goes out to his family.

A funnier guy there has not been around here...

Somehow, the "heartbeat" of the MR forums just stopped.

Dean...may you finally have some "peace".

My sincere condolences to those he left behind...there is nothing
harder in life.

Very sad news. I remember when Dean and I argued who was the better performer...Springsteen or U2. Though I did not agree with alot of his philosophy about most things, he did make me laugh with his posts on here, and he was very opinionated. I will miss his rants. R.I.P. Dean.

This just gets worse as the day goes on. Fuck.

The world was a better place with him in it.

It doesn't seem real.

Thanks! That was the first time Lora & I met Deano & Lula in Oct 2006. We hit it off & became fast friends. Photo by JSS.

I went back & saw that I had posted that photo in my 3rd post on MR. Not many people had met Deano at that point & everyone seemed surprised at what he looked like.

For any of you who doubted what a sincerely great and selfless guy Dean was...here is the last PM he sent me...and it's worth noting he was going through a lot at the time, too.

Seriously, I have been exactly where you are now, and everyone I talked to sounds exactly like I am talking to you now.....they all said this- "It will get easier." It will, just have to wait it out. I wouldn't call her nor text her. Go out tonight with friends....you HAVE to to do this.

I don't have internet on the weekends(until Sunday), but I will check in as much as I can. You have my number, so call me any time day or night. ANY time.

After I was more around Dean and following him around these forums, I never, ever, doubted his sincerity. In fact, as ironic as it sounds, I thought sometimes he was the most well-liked characters and down to Earth people once you found your way to his foundation. I noticed it right away and kind of read behind his smoke and mirrors of being "the asshole" constantly. I like(d) Dean, a lot. One of my favorite people anywhere on any kind of forum.

What spoke volumes to me is his willingness to travel and meet the people from MR and go out with a bang. I truly believe he cared more about this place and the community more than anything besides Lula and Wyatt and in my mind, that's the truth. No matter how many times he's said he's done, no matter how many times he got banned for being vulgar, causing too much of a stir, etc, I believe it was all out of his un-denying love for MR and the interaction & connection with all of us, and it certainly showed face to face and through PM's. Hell, in the NFL thread, THEE DEANO told me to "calm down" once, lmao.

Fact of the matter is, is that Deano cherished melodicrock.com and cherished the friendships and that was his foundation beneath the "fuck you's" and the "go fuck yourself's". That's why he kept coming back all the way down to his last days.

Never met Deano, but had many a heated exchange on these boards. His passion for the music he loved was never in doubt.
I'll miss seeing his posts here, and I pray for those he leaves behind.

Shocked to see the headline on MR today!

It's been a while since I've posted regularly here... so I wasn't up to date on Deano's latest (4 years?). Honestly, I didn't know he was still posting here... I would have stopped by a lot sooner.

Looking back, I spent so many hours reading Deano's material... laughing... and often cracking up at how FEARLESS he was in some of the things he would say... and I always looked forward to reading the ensuing shitstorm! LOL! Part of the fun was fearing FOR him that Andrew would kick his ass out. I remember many times he did kick him out... and it seemed so wrong because you could tell this was his HOME, you know what I mean? I could read between the lines and see that a lot of the bad was just him egging people on. A lot of my family is upfront (not THAT upfront), but enough for me to understand where he was coming from.

Hard to believe he's gone.

He interacted with so many of us. Dude must have had thousands of friends. I remember him telling me he liked my first CD, and this made me feel really good, and gave me some needed confidence at the time... several years ago. He told me he wanted to be my manager!

I remember he told me he met Mutt Lange one time... I believed him, but he could have been tugging my chain. But it doesn't matter.

RIP Deano.... the best to his family... I will miss him, too.

The outpouring of love and respect for Deano is so amazing. We've put down the anger and come together as one to celebrate one of our own. It's a beautiful thing and Deano was a beautiful soul.

I met Deano in Vegas...cool guy. Wore his heart on his sleeve and never backed down from his opinion. You could say that he could rub you the wrong way but he made it a point to at least hear you out before he disagreed.

He was a large part of attraction of this site when I first joined, and if you never met him...then you missed out. I shared 1 drink with him that night in Vegas and met many cool Journey fans that same night. It was memorable...

The guy will be missed.

Image

It was this night...And I'm not in this pic...Somewhere out there....there is video of some of the zaniness that went on that night in a bar at PH!
I'll have to go through that hard drive to find out.

Deano ws one of the reasons I kept coming back to this forum, I enjoyed reading his thoughts on the world, politics, music. I enjoyed the conversations we had, through the forums, and PM's, he will be sorely missed, he was MR's main man, he was the guy, when you think MR forums, you think Rockin Deano.

Very sad news, I am sad, and, he will be in my thoughts.

Wish I would've made that trip , but I always thought there's a tomorrow ....

I had that happen also. Talking to a friend, thinking there's gonna be a tomorrow and then the last time you see them, it's in a casket. You have feeling's of

regret, (what if I would have been there?), remorse(Of not seeing them one last time) and a thousand other ones bombing your brain all at the same time.

I believe Deano would have been amazed at how many people he touched thru his words. Sometimes rude, sometimes vulgar, but deep down you knew he

had a heart of gold. Man, Just going back and reading some of his post, I was laughing and for someone I have never met, had a lot of feelings for. He

obviously touched many more people on here from all over. The torch is passed. Behshad, Steveo, Enigma, and the others, time to step up your game.

Wow, I do not know what to say.........................
My prayers go out to his wife and kid.
Deano will be missed.
I hit it off with him early on, never meet him but here we shared a lot of conversations. I did not always agree with him and him with me, but he had a passion for his music and what was right and wrong in the music world. We had a falling out during TG, and never really built back our friendship to what it was. But he still respected me as a Christian and PMed me if he thought he over did it with me. I respected him for that.
I will miss him, but know where as much as his family, I hope and pray that God gives you strength and comfort in the days to come.
