:( omg I can't believe it. I remember being in 7th grade and getting detention because I wrote "I luv Davy Jones" in lipstick on the bathroom stall door. SHIT This sucks. :(

Damn... very sad to hear that. If they want to continue, they should call John Waite to replace him - perfect choice.

I love the story he told about meeting his most recent wife. They were in a play together. She was probably 30 years younger or so. There was a flirtation going on between them. But one day she turned to him and said, Let's run upstairs and make love. He told her, It has to be one or the other. At my age, I can't do both.

Holy Shite! I was a fan of the Monkees in my youth. In the past year, my Dad found my Monkees fan club kit and sent it to me.

RIP Davey Jones. You will be missed.

Like most girls I had the biggest crush on Davy. He was handsome even as an older man. Sorry to hear this. He was a heart throb. I wanted to kick Marsha Brady in the teeth when she got to have him on the show...stuck up witch.

I was shocked when I heard about it yesterday....I felt like a part of my youth had just died. I watched "The Monkees" TV show religiously as a kid. Ironically, my boss and I were just talking about Davy Jones on Monday....we were talking about both of us having a crush on Bobby Sherman, and she had a crush on Davy. For some reason, I liked Peter Tork more than Davy.

RIP Davy.

I agree, part of my youth died too. This put a real damper on an already bad day yesterday. This is less then a month after Epstien died. Davy and the Monkees were classic. I was thankful even recently to think glad all the Monkees are still here. Not anymore. Kinda wish I saw them in concert the last time they were here. Trying to get out to some of these shows more lately. Saw McCartney and Van Halen this past year.

Strange, day yesterday, I felt really OLD when I heard about Davy Jones. I'm old, but that made me feel REALLY old, as Jones was kind of always the perpetual teenager when I was a younger kid. It was an odd feeling to be sure. With John Lennon and George Harrison, there was this big sense of loss (huge Beatle geek here), with Davy, it was like- wow, time really does move ahead and it won't be long before we're all there. With Whitney, saw it coming. With Cobain, saw it coming. Jackson, same deal. None of those really bothered me that much. Davy Jones though? Man. Look at Nez, Mickey, and Peter- out of all of them Davy seemed to be the most healthy. Too bad. I saw them in 86 (without Mike unfortunately) and it was a fun show. Very "Corny" but still fun. Mickey Dolenz especially had such a great voice, still does. Effortless singer there.
RIP (Rokken) Davy.

Interesting factoid about Davy Jones. He was so famous at one point, that David Jones changed his name to David Bowie.

Yes. Another reminder that time is constantly marching on. RIP Davey. Hopefully old St. Pete won't ask "Will Davey Jones please stand up" when you are waiting at the gates.

Anybody else catch the coincidental Monkees reference on last night's episode of Modern Family, when the two guys in monkey costumes arrived for Cam's party, and they introduced themselves:

Monkey costume guy #1: "Hey"
Monkey costume guy #2: "Hey"
Monkey costume guy #1: "We're the monkeys."

Wow! Bobby Sherman. I had to watch him every week on Shindig! and then Here Come The Brides. Last I heard he was a Sheriff with San Bernadino County.
