Interesting how everyone is willing to look past Deano's demons Because they know the real him but they can't give journeys drummer the same benefit. Passing judgment on Deen without knowing him or the situation is stupid.

I'd say this board's predisposition to vilify members of Journey has diminished tremendously in the past year or so.
That said, domestic violence is serious business and stuff like that doesn't change, regardless of which De[e/a]n is throwing the punches.

Personally, I'm in the dark about each man's troubled past and I'd like to keep it that way, but I don't believe that it's appropriate to bring Dean into this.

I don't know Dean's private struggles anymore than I know Deen's...but that's sorta the point. Those who do know Dean are willing to look past his demons. But some have basically said they would not with Deen.

At the risk of sounding callous, all I care about is Deen's ability to play and sing for Journey.
I don't promote domestic violence but I couldn't care less about his personal life. The inevitable legal and social consequences for that conduct are independent of my personal interest. Justice will be served, I'm sure, one way or another.

But at the end of the day, the only time that I'll "be done" with Deen is when his behavior keeps him from contributing to this band.
It's not worth it to get invested in the lives of these men.

You know it is a sick world. It is kinda like the jury of a murder trial convicting a suspected murderer. There is a good chance that one of the jury members is a murderer themselves that just never got caught.
And here he is deciding the fate of another dude!

Personally all I care is that when I have my concert ticket and show up at the venue. Is that the band shows up to entertain me. Other than that it's all good!

I would definately tell my kid not to pass judgement without knowing the facts. I would also explain that the behaviour is not ok (if factual). But I would not tell my kid to no longer pay attention to the man's talent.
