I think there is zero chance that he goes to any NFC team. He has no interest in being in the same conference as Eli.

Denver makes the most sense to me. I'm sure the evangelicals will protest and picket the Broncos games if that happens.

Sorry bro, I hope things get better. I'm doing well. My wife, our niece and I finally moved into a house. We were in a cracker box apartment for way too long. I plan on having a crawfish boil some time this spring if you want to come up for it.

Brian Griese, the former Denver quarterback who is now the Broncos’ radio color commentator, believes that the Broncos are one of the favorites to land Peyton Manning.

Griese said on Mike and Mike in the Morning that he thinks the Broncos like Manning and that Manning should like the Broncos, and that there’s a good chance of a deal getting done.

“I think it’s very realistic,” Griese said. “More realistic than people would realize.”

One of the reasons for that is the man who ultimately calls the shots in Denver, John Elway, knows from first-hand experience that an older quarterback, even one who may have lost a little bit physically, can win a Super Bowl.

“John Elway won two Super Bowls when he was 37 and 38 in Denver,” Griese said. “I think Denver is certainly in play.”

Griese said he believes Elway will woo Manning by talking up the talent that’s already on the Broncos’ offense, especially left tackle Ryan Clady, and say that the Broncos will be aggressive in upgrading at the areas where they’re lacking. Elway will tell Manning that he’s going to put a Super Bowl-quality roster around him.

“The differentiating factor in Denver will be John Elway and his ability to connect with Peyton Manning,” Griese said.

So what about the man Elway has vowed will be the starter heading into training camp?

“It’s not about Tim Tebow. This is not a situation where Tim Tebow would be cut or released or traded. He’s got three years left on his contract,” Griese said. “This is not a situation where the Broncos are giving up on Tim Tebow. I think this is more about trying to win a Super Bowl with a team that they have now and adding Peyton Manning, and where that puts them in relation to the rest of the league, and the opportunities they have.”

Griese even said he thinks Tebow could get some playing time on the field with Manning.

“Tim Tebow wouldn’t get on the field as much but I still think he could get on the field and play a role with Peyton Manning,” Griese said.

Peyton Manning lining up under center in Denver with fullback Tim Tebow behind him? It might just be crazy enough to work.

Free agent wideout Brandon Lloyd told PFT Live in February that he’d “like to entertain” the possibility of playing for the New England Patriots. Lloyd has an obvious tie to new Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who helped resurrect Lloyd’s career in Denver.Lloyd has played ten years in the league.

Lloyd took it a step further in an interview with Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England this week. Lloyd said he’s “very interested” in the Patriots with just five days left before the market opens.

“Very interested,” Lloyd stressed. “And like I said earlier, I admire coach Bill [Belichick], I admire Tom Brady, I admire how they run things over there.

“Any receiver to be considered to come in and play on the New England Patriots is gonna be excited just because of the history of success.”

Lloyd makes an awful lot of sense for the Patriots. He’s a vertical wide receiver, a role Chad Ochocinco failed to fill last season. Deion Branch was New England’s primary downfield threat, but he is unsigned, going on age 33, and declining rapidly.

While Lloyd recently had light contract talks with the Rams, the following statements he made to Curran strongly indicate Lloyd would much prefer to play for a contender like New England:

“Winning is definitely the highest priority,” he said.

Looks like Kansas City already offered Manning a contract today. Interesting since Peyton wants to be signed ASAP and the Chiefs are willing to sign him without seeing him throw.

If they do sign him i think that i would have to pick the Chiefs as favorites in the west. They have some pretty good players there already.I think they need to move on from Cassel because he is not the answer at QB

Appearing on ESPN’s 9 a.m. edition of SportsCenter Friday, Adam Schefter suggested that the immediate and circus-style media coverage of Peyton Manning landing in Miami after his release by the Colts may have affected the free agent quarterback’s outlook on playing for the Dolphins.

Citing people who know Manning, Schefter reported that the helicopter chases were jarring. Florio referred to it as a “South Florida frenzy.” Manning isn’t a “big city” type, and never had to deal with excessive, paparazzi-style coverage in Knoxville or Indianapolis.

He’d have to become accustomed to that if he made Miami his permanent home.

While it seems unlikely that Manning would rule out the Dolphins as a potential suitor because of what occurred over the last two days, you can be sure he’s factoring it in.

Yeah its definitely looking like you might be right about Kansas City as Manning is most likely to go somewhere low key and somewhere small and quiet compared to the big city hustle and bustle.

Going from the Dome to playing in Kansas City or Denver half the season has to take a bit of adjustment no matter how good the guy is..

Agreed. As I said a page earlier:

I have the same exact feeling with the Chiefs. I feel the Chiefs own the same components with Bowe, Charles, Breaston, McCluster, Moeaki, all pieces to the puzzle and a well-liked coach in Romeo Crennel leading the team.

Kansas City would be a nice fit for the same reasons why Miami would. The makeup of both teams go hand in hand IMHO. Looking at the overall divisions, I'm sure Manning is peaking from within the divisions and would possibly take his best chances and path to the Super Bowl of having to go through Oakland, San Diego and Denver twice a year rather than New England, Miami and Buffalo twice a year (key being going through Brady twice a year.) Miami and Kansas City will duke it out unless someone drastically comes in with a ludicrous offer to thwart both teams (and it could be Denver. Manning is visiting with Broncos officials at the moment.)

Yep, and Montana was successful in his adventure (unlike may legends switching helmet logo's) taking the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game to go to the Super Bowl, but falling short against the Bills in '93.

Interesting that Manning has 3 teams on his lap that hasn't had a good QB follow-up after legends of the game called it quits (Miami- Dan Marino, Denver- John Elway and Kansas City- Joe Montana.)

So much for Tebow Time in Denver. Elway and Fox has been trying to knock all this bullshit Tebow stuff off for quite some time now, even when he was WINNING. Now, that image is even put out there in a more fierce limelight because the Broncos are said to do "whatever it takes to make Peyton Manning their new franchise Quarterback." Interesting.

The Indianapolis Colts will be a very different team in 2012.

In addition to Andrew Luck taking over at quarterback and Peyton Manning playing elsewhere, the Colts will have a whole lot of holes to fill with the news that they have released Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai and Melvin Bullitt.

That report came from Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, just moments after the report that longtime defensive captain Gary Brackett had been cut. Also coming out today was news that the Colts would like to trade Dwight Freeney.

Just as there’s been talk that Reggie Wayne and Manning could be a package deal, speculation can immediately commence that Clark or Addai could be targets of whatever team signs Manning.

UPDATE: Quarterback Curtis Painter was also released.

The Redskins and Rams have officially decided to make the draft day trade in advance for the #2 overall pick, which means Robert Griffin III will be a Washington Redskin. The Rams will receive the 6th pick and 3 extra first round picks moving forward next season and a #2 as well. Of course, Dan Snyder sells his soul once more. This guy HAS to hit atleast once, right? :x

The Jets pulled their name from the Manning sweepstakes. They just extended Mark Sanchez. God that guy is terrible. Tom Brady is laughing his ASS off. The Jets are possibly in the worst emotional shape from all 32 teams. Must suck for Sanchez to know that in order to get an extension from his current team, that they missed out on a much better QB. It's like N.Y Jets are settling, lmao. No matter, Manning would of never went into that stink-hole of a locker room to begin with.

And Matt's head continues to explode inside for being a Browns fan. This is Cleveland's luck:

The Cleveland Browns had stepped up their efforts to try to acquire the No. 2 pick in recent days, going so far as to offer at least three No. 1 picks to the Rams and possibly even the second-round pick, according to one source familiar with the deal. Cleveland sensed it was going to get the deal done, only to be informed that St. Louis planned to deal the coveted No. 2 pick to the Redskins.

I honestly anticipated it would be the Browns to land RGIII. They just got backdoor'd. I mean, the Browns basically offered the Rams the same exact deal and the Rams decide to deal the pick to another NFC team? Doesn't make sense.

Sanchez is a big reason the Jets missed out on the playoffs last year.Your right the Jets screwed themselves because Sanchez definitely sucks and he will be a big reason Rex Ryan ends up being let go in NY and it will happen.Your right Manning would never ever sat foot in that locker room as bad as the vibes are there and the ego clashes.

I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER give up three number one picks and a second round pick for any player...especially one that has never played in the NFL. Maybe if you could absolutely guarantee me that the guy is going to be Joe Montana, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, I may give it some thought. Beyond that...no fucking way!

I was wondering if these GM's remember what happened to Ditka in New Orleans??? It was a very ignoble way to end his career.

Right, and going back further than that, Dallas built their Aikman Super Bowl teams thanks to the dopey Vikings giving away 100 number one picks (exaggerating, of course) for Herschel Walker. Nobody thought that trade made sense at the time it was done and looking back, it really made no sense at all. Dallas probably wouldn't have won a single Super Bowl during that era if not for that moronic trade that Minnesota agreed to make with them.

I wouldn't give that up either but for Daniel Snyder, it's constantly desperate times for desperate measures. RGIII is in the same category as Andrew Luck with the type of athlete that only comes by ever-so-often so if it would be anybody to be obnoxious into taking the bait, it would be Snyder. And who can blame him in taking the chance when he has seen Eli win two Super Bowls and Dallas always in contention within the NFC EAST. The Redskins are pretty much a puncher's chance for the basement. Griffin III would need some help though and Snyder isn't the kind that would give him his needs through April's draft, but rather has-beens in FA.
