Considering how bad Angelos is as an owner and how Bud Selig and ESPN would suck a million dicks before not making sure the Yankees and the Red Sox are always in contention in the AL East letting them spend to their hearts content this is hardly surprising.

I think the Pirates lost to the same team last year too.

If Peter Angelos owned one of MLB's darling franchises they would find a way to force him out. I wish the Orioles would follow the Colts to Indianapolis (JUST LEAVE THE NAME HERE THIS TIME) removing a civic disgrace and making Camden Yards an empty symbol of how broken baseball is as a sport.

Embarrassing loss no doubt, but Buck Showalter is a really good manager and if the new GM can pull the right strings, the O's will be a contender in the AL east in the near future. It all comes back to ownership- they have to be willing to spend money to get decent free agents and or develop a strong minor league system. The big thing they need right now is pitching, they already have a decent offensive team.
