that would be why I only included the QB's with SB time.. non SB QB's I don't consider relevant...

Johnny Unitas isn't relevant?![]()
2 NFL Championships in 58, 59 and 2 Super Bowl appearances in 68 and 71 (partial games)

You better check your facts, Roger Goodell. Last I checked, Brady has three Super Bowl wins as well!

whoops!
Forgot about Johnny U.. I Was think more about Y.A. Title..
I agree Smith is no Aikman... but I also think given his current situation.. writing him off is a bit premature..

He could have his own show titled "America's Dumbest Criminals & QBs".

It's not premature AT ALL. Alex Smith is entering his 7th NFL season (only starting 16 games 2 times) with only one good season to show for. To his credit, the 9'ers were rebuilding ever since he was takin first overall in 2005, but 7 years into the league, he is now a veteran and with San Francisco now dominating the defensive ranks and probably will for years to come led by Patrick Willis (who's the next Ray Lewis in terms of importance to that unit) they also found their head coach for the long-run & controversy already started this off-season with the 9'ers looking into bringing in other QB's that shocked Smith.
I believe Smith will be on a very, very short leash, one Jim Harbaugh isn't going to be patient with entering his 2nd season as head coach. Following an NFC Championship appearance is very tough and givin' the style of Alex Smith, they may not get there again with him as their starting QB.
I've said it once that he will get the opportunity to prove to the NFL and to the 9'ers he could turn into a nice veteran QB, but he will only have maybe half a season to do so.
If we are comparing him to other quarterbacks, then I'd say his time in San Fran and his overall career reminds me of Kordell Stewart's. A heavily scrutinized QB that underperformed most of his career that only has a couple good seasons to show for it while losing Conference Title games at home, all while dealing with different coordinators throughout his time under center and being on a short leash with always having to prove and look over his shoulder. Smith will be under major pressure entering '12.
