In fact, it's almost getting to the point where if a rock band is being snubbed by the RHOF, it's a band worth listening to.

The Talking Heads have been for ten years now. It's not like the hall JUST NOW started putting in artists from different genres.
I still don't get the argument for Journey getting in ahead of a lot of other acts like Rush, the Moody Blues, Deep Purple, etc.
What did Neal and Company bring to the table that was so different or trendsetting? No diamond albums beyond their greatest hits, no Grammy, no number one songs. Longevity? Yeah, them and a hundred other bands.
Even the power ballad wasn't a new thing when Journey started to become famous for them. The year before Open Arms was released, Keep on Lovin' You had reached #1 and Hi infidelity was the number one rock album of the year for 1981. REO had just as many hits, still tour (with their original singer) yet no one is clamoring for them to get into the HOF.

My questions is what in the world have the Talking Heads down to get into the Rock Hall of Fame? These guys are a joke.
I agree that some other acts should get in maybe before Journey, especially the rock band Chicago. Yes, I can see the case for Rush, but Moody Blues... No Way. I couldnt even name you five hits from them in the states.

Actually Kevin was not the original singer, he joined on the TWO release. Terry Luttrell was the lead singer on the first release, REO Speedwagon. Kevin sang on the second, and third. But got booted out hand Mike Murphy came in and rerecorded the vocals on the third, Ridin The Storm Out. Mike stayed on for the 4th and 5th releases, but Kevin came back for REO which was # 6. He has been there ever since.

The Moody Blues have more number one songs and albums in the states than Journey does. lol

Actually thats not true at all. The Moody Blues have never had a number one single in the United States. Yes, they did have two #1 albums, only one more than Journey. Journey has way more top 10 and top 20 singles.
Moody Blues
*They only have 3 top ten hits and 6 top 20 hits.
*6 top ten studio albums.
*Two number one albums
Journey
*They have 6 top ten singles and 13 top 20 hits.
*6 top ten studio albums
*One number 1 album.

You say "first band to get in" from that group as if induction is an eventual inevitability. But I wouldn't be so sure. I'm a child of the 90s, and bands from my youth are starting to become eligible AND get inducted. What makes you think they are going to "go back" and get all these bands eventually? I really don't see them going back.
Eventually, they may begrudgingly let Leppard and Rush in... maybe even Journey. But it's hard for me to see them ever letting all these successful bands in eventually. The powers that be (e.g., that homo Jann Wenner) simply disdain this type of music, and something tells me that disdain will be pervasive long after Wenner and his immediate cronies die or get too old to be in charge anymore.

That's what I am talking about.
Getting in should be about bringing something different to the table and having success with it. There's quite a few groups with 100 million album sold so to get into the hall has to entail more than just straight up record sales. Being a pioneer or daring to be different should be rewarded over longevity and just touring until you die.
