I've got the Classic Rock fanpack on pre-order; I'll buy the album at Best Buy on release date because Amazon can't be trusted; I've got my tickets for Manchester, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Toronto. All I need is a ticket for Houston and I'm all set.

LOL...well..I DON'T like change.

But seriously...I'm excited about the vinyl more than the CD, 'cause it was always much more satisfying to get a huge cover, gatefold, and lyics you could actually READ, than it was to get the cassette, or CD. Plus...I miss the pops in the records.

IT'S NOSTALGIC, DAMNIT. lol

I don't miss the pops, but I can't read shit at my age and would welcome the huge cover and lyrics

Well...I don't like the sterile sound of a cd (or mp3)...WAY too polished. The pops seem to help with that analogue sound.

You ARE nostalgic I would say. I like the way you can hear more details above the pops and with tapes, the hiss. Headphone listening of course.

I'll bet you enjoyed "Stairway To Heaven" fading out in the middle of the song and fading back in as it clicked over to the next track. Just a nostalgic feature like the pops and hiss.

Oddly enough...I never had any Zep 8 tracks. Renegade pissed me off with that, though.

Who in your family had LPs and 8Ts? Or did you naturally develop a fondness for older media?

YOU SICK FUCK.

I'm the youngest in my family, so that explains the 78s and 8-tracks, but records were still hot when I was born. I STOLE my first one when I was 2 (Paradise Theater), and bought my 1st one when I was 3 after Easter (Grand Illusion). I remember seeing those "shiny little disc" behind the counter back then, and thinking "records look cooler". lol
