The iPhone 4S has amazing battery life now that Apple fixed the bugs.

I just re-upped my AT&T account for another 2 years, just because I could grab a couple new iPhone 3G's for 99c each. Not the latest and greatest, but fine for everything the wife and I need to do. No battery lasts long enough if you don't learn to kill apps when you are not using them.

I work in the cell phone industry and my recommendation is to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S III Android- it should be out later this summer.
A couple of things that you can try to improve battery life is make sure GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi are all turned off if you aren't using them; and one other thing that you can try is go to "Settings", then go to "accounts and sync"; then uncheck "background data". This stops your apps from automatically updating and just generally cutting down on stuff running in the background which makes your battery work harder, thus running down faster.
Here's a link for the Galaxy SIII: European version, but should be pretty similar in the States:

I love my HTC Droid Incredible 2.....BUT I have had problems with the USB charging port. I just received my 3rd one as the previous 2 have malfunctioned. It is a design flaw with the way the port is made. It isn't connected to the board very well and becomes loose with every charge. My battery wouldn't charge at all! Hopefully 3rd times a charm and I won't have the same problem. I was told not to actually use the phone while it is charging or plugged into the computer, as the twisting of the cable damages the port.

As far as the actual phone goes, I've not had any other problems with it and am happy over all. Just the aggrevation of having to change phones every few months, is getting old though. Thankfully it is still covered under manufacture's warranty and I haven't had to pay anything for the new 'reconditioned' phones. I also have insurance but it would still cost $99 to replace it if the issue was my fault.

I just posted this rant on Facebook!! GRrrrrr!!!! :?

Ok, so the Droid dilemma continues!!! My replacement came today and I went through all the hoops of reactivating it, transfering my contacts, etc., only to realize that I wasn't getting any sound from it. The ringer wouldn't ring, couldn't hear a thing...nothing!! I called Verizon Wireless AGAIN and spent 29 minutes on the phone with a techician, all the while he's trying to talk me into "upgrading", which would of course cost me!!! Only for him to tell me that the phone was defective and that they would have to overnight me ANOTHER certified replacement!!

This will make my 4th HTC Droid Incredible 2 within a year!!! I think they should send me a BRAND NEW phone, not one that is reconditioned and FUBAR!!! Come on Verizon, I've been a loyal customer for over 30 years, have had Verizon Wireless since cell phones came out and my family owns stock in your company!! Get it right, will ya?!!! I'm BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!!! :-/

The iPhone is simply the gold standard. I don't know why anyone would opt for anything else other than simply not being able to afford the iPhone or your carrier not having it (T-Mobile probably doesn't have iPhone... or does it?). I have seen some very cool-looking droids, but there's just too many variables and technical issues there no matter how reliable your specific model is (namely, the buggy Android OS).

I bailed out on AT&T last year and went with Sprint. In my area, I get a much stronger signal with Sprint, and they have much better phones. Don't even bring Iphone into the discussion. I wouldn't have one of those if you paid me to use it. The only reason being is how proprietary Apple is. I can't say I blame them for being that way, because it has served them well. And I will also say that they make great products, but I like the Android's openness much better.

Oh, and AT&T's customer service sucks, badly.

I've always had AT&T and can't afford to leave them. But I have to say, since the last update for my iPhone4S, I have had 4G network and it fixed any signal issues I had had when I was 3G my area.

And Rick, you'd like drawing much more on an iPhone AND you could play family feud!

I've got an iPhone on the Verizon network and love it. I rarely use the 3G connection, though, as I just use the wireless signal most of the time but their network seems to work pretty well in most areas.

Just don't put your phone through the washer and dryer...Long story short, my well-meaning daughter took my jeans, which were not in a laundry basket or hamper, and washed them with my iPhone still in the pocket. I didn't know it until I heard it banging around inside the dryer.

All you naysayers can just go fuck yourselves! I like what I like and my phone service has served me well. The pimple farmer wanted some smart phone advice. This has nothing to do with carriers, but the phones themselves. You got ghetto phones, keyboard phones, then you have the iPhone, which is the best and proven phone around. Don't fall for any of that Droid shit, dude! The only way to get a Droid rolling the way you want is to spend hours and hours learning how to hack it and then it tries to emulate what Apple has perfected.
