American Idol DOES have some talented artists

Postby G.I.Jim » Tue May 29, 2012 12:18 pm

Here are a few for you Andrew!! Yeah, there's a lot of cheesy shit on the show, but beneath that, there's also a lot of talent that's come out of there over the years. This year, I would say that the most overall talent was Phillip Phillips. He plays guitars and piano, writes music and is also a great singer. Here he is...

Haley Reinhart from last year...

Not one of my picks either! It looked like he was trying to pass that kidney stone when he sang. :P
I wish Josh or Jessica would have won.

Not one of mine either. I liked him in the beginning and loved what he did with that Black Crowes song. But week after week it was just the exact same delivery on every single song no matter what genre. Got boring, and have to agree with Yulie, that strained (taking a dump / a la Springsteen) type vocal doesn't do a thing for me. I would probably have picked Jessica, voice wise. Josh sounded very good in his normal voice but he got too screechy for me on the high end most times.

Give me a blues man any day..........looooooved this performance from the winner of America's Got Talent. So much more feeling in his vocals, and would love to hear more of this old school type bluesy music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyAadBF-c0M

Yes, it got so i didnt want to even watch him , not because he was bad but that it was the same thing each time and it just became annoying much like that deondre guy. I think we are going to see this guy flop as an artist. :?

I thought Deondre (or as my daughter called him, little Jeff) had more variety in his vocals and range. I think his problem was nerves/confidence........yes he was just as young as Jessica, but I don't think he had the confidence she had. He seemed more shy and unsure of himself. I think vocally he had it, but he lacked the confidence to just let loose and belt it out. I really liked his tone. Some of it had to do with his song choices too. I thought he opened up more right at the end of his stint, was one of his best nights, but a little too late I guess.

Jessica became the first Runner up in Idol history to not have any songs in Billboard's Top 100. She is good at mimicking but when she had to sing a new song that she had never karaoked before, she was exposed.

Many will make great livings in music from AI. Kelly , Carrie and Catherine McPhee come to mind. But the world star is Adam. He drew huge audiences around the world on his own tour and now 6 dates with Queen. They are 3 in London, 1 in Poland , 1 in Moscow and one mentioned in Kiev with Queen & Elton John.
