I Love 'The Garden'. Starts off slow, acoustic. Strings! Orchestral! Sounds like something from Ged's 'My Favorite Headache'. My favorite so far. 10/10

Wish Them Well - not sure how to categorize this. Sounds like Vapor Trail stuff, but better. 5/10

The Wreckers - Not a bad track. Kinda like it. 8/10

Halo Effect - starts off etheral, then acoustic...then settles into a plodding routine. 3/10

Seven Cities of Gold - great bassline beginning. Doesn't stand out much to me, although the 'heaviest' track so far. 5/10

Carnies - 2nd shortest track on the album, not counting Bu2B2. Everything so far has sounded VERY samey, save for 'The Garden' 3/10

The Anarchist - After a 1:30 instrumental intro, settles into that samey pattern again. 6/10

Clockwork Angels - probably my 2nd fave. Only because they change tempo a few times in the song. 8/10

At first blush....I'm sure it will TRY to be a grower. We'll see....

On June 4th, 2012 - this album gets a 60%

Caravan, Headlong Flight, Bu2B, The Garden, The Wreckers, and Clockwork Angels are my picks so far.

Caravan - Good song, and I've had 2 years to digest this one. It was a fun one to learn when I was trying to get my guitar playing chops back.

BU2B - Interesting intro. The rest of the song just kicks you in the teeth

Clockwork Angels - From those 30 second samples, I tried to guess how it's gonna evolve. I was wrong on this one. Moody intro, then the guitars kick in with something you think will knock you on your ass, but it slows down a bit BEFORE doing that. This is another I look forward to learning.

The Anarchist - Straight up rocker. Strings are a nice addition to it.

Carnies - Kinda has a Working Man feel when the guitars kick in. Then it kinda melts into a "My Favorite Headache" sounding song. I like it.

Halo Effect - Slow..acoustic driven at first. Stays pretty slow throughout. Kinda reminds me of something that could be on S&A

Seven Cities Of Gold - Great bassline, and cool "noisy" guitars at the beginning. Flows into something off Counterparts.

BU2B2 - Strings, synth, and Geddy. My weakest track on the album.

The Wreckers - Another one that could've been off Geddy's album. Also has a VT touch to it to me because I notice something different to it everytime I hear it.

Headlong Flight - We all know this one by now. LOVE that bass, and the drums on this are that hammer to the head. LOVE it. Still reminds me of "Bastille Day", and I'm throwing in a VT mix now.

Wish Them Well - Sounds like a mix between T4E, and S&A. I like it.

The Garden - Cool tone on the guitar on the intro, with the strings kicking in. Back to acoustic. Get's slightly moody in the mid section. The song's about the end of a life, and not looking back in regret. Pretty uplifting.

Must have for Rush fans. Diehard or casual. I'm giving this a 97, with points being docked for rehashing a song title like Metallica. That, and it being a weak track.

I've now spent approx 24 hours with this album. It's gonna be a grower for me. It's got a lot of MFH in it, it's got balls live VT but with the production of S&A. I'm really looking forward to hearing some of these live. The title track; Seven Cities; Wish them Well and The Garden especially.

A lot of people in the UK have received their Fan Pack already (from Classic Rock) hoping they travel across the pond quickly so I don't have to buy yet another copy on release date.

I'm taking a break from the album after 36 hours of having on repeat. lol....it's a KILLER. I love it. I've already found one of my favorite lines "Sometimes you have to be wary of a miracle to good to be true" - The Wreckers

I'll finish this MetallicA boot, and go right back to it. 8)

T4E was their last truly GREAT album....Ged's voice has been lost in the mix ever since. Too many songs like 'Seven Cities of Gold', and not enough like Resist, or Half the World

Gotta disagree..T4E was good, don't get me wrong, but Counterparts, and VT are my favorites from the 90's/2000's. This one's a multiple listen album, but it hooked me fast.

I really don't like the slowdown point of BU2B2. That's my only complaint.

After hearing Clockwork Angels a few times, my thoughts are: WINNING!

I like it better than Snakes & Arrows, Vapor Trails and TFE. To me, it's the best CD since Power Windows which was the last great RUSH CD in my eyes. Can't wait for the actual release!
