It wasn't a medley, or even really a trade-off duet. Everyone in the band got shortchanged, especially Neal.
Arnel sounded good, except for the penultimate note which was flat. But still, what was the point?

I think the virtually non-existent song placement of "Remember Me" in the Armaggedon movie was better than this.

I thought Arnel started out strong but the edit sort of screwed the song up and then the tempo seemed to get faster like the end of the Frontiers tour. I think they should have skipped the edit and just played the song out normally even if it got cut off at the end for the TV viewers.
That's how the AMC Awards show did it when they had a Blake Shelton/ Lionel Richie mash-up. Even if we don't see the end of the performance on TV, at least the crowd doesn't get cheated.

Arnel sounded GOOD? I must need new speakers on my TV. There was nothing "good" at all to me on that performance. He wouldn't have been hired at a second rate bar with those vocals.

That appearance did more for Rascal Flatts then it did for Journey (and that ain't saying much).

Well, it wasnt that bad. It almost seems like Journey is seen as a 1 hit wonder though, come on they have a ton of hits. Its time to move on and maybe start promoting Anyway you want it or even faithfully. DSB is washed up.

The band as a whole is washed up.

You know it's bad when a country band/singer does Journey better than Neil's band.

You know when the credits started rolling on Neil I thought of the commercial in the movie "Monsters inc." when the copyright logo completely covered the little green guy Mike Wizowski.

I'm not going to blame Journey for this one. Their last album bombed, they had to try something. Just one of those shows where being the last performance isn't the best spot to be in because of the time constraints.

The incomplete youtube clip I saw was unflattering. Arnel sounded bad enough that the White Sox may ask him to sing DSB for them during one of their World Series rallies.

See I looked as the time constraint as an advantage...it was quick..not painless.

Yup, that's the one.
Like I said, unflattering as hell. But the crowd was definitely thrilled. This live vs live recording phenomenon may explain why people enjoyed Live in Houston, an out-of-tune SA for his last few years, Arnel at various trainwrecks, etc.

Aside from the one note toward the end, Arnel was solid. I didn't think he or the Rascal Flatts guy really impressed. Carrie Underwood also sounded tired. But, hey, it's a live show. Nitpick away.

Rock bottom was releasing concert videos to VH-1 Classics featuring the lead singer hiding his face with a fuzzy oversized microphone. This is fine. No less of a shameless publicity stunt than when Foreigner played at Nascar. And hey, at least Michaele Salahi wasn't on-stage in some slutty overalls grinding on Neal and dancing a hoedown.
