I like the vocals on this track, but Lost Angels is definitely better.

I don't know what's not to like. Lost Angels is good, but it's kind of cookie cutter for me. This song has a flavor all it's own. Very haunting melody -- and GOD DAMN Perry knocked it out of the park with this vocal. Absolutely tremendous chills from this song for me. I love it. Wish it was finished with proper production values and released. I'd buy it.

it's just milquetoast...not that I could do better, just being a fan of Perry and his previous efforts. The vocal acrobatic type stuff is nice, but needs to be paired with an equally great tune - you know, something co-written by Schon and Cain ;-)

It's definitely not my cup of tea (like much of FTLOSM) but to each there own. I don't need to like it to share it.

Not true.

YoungJRNY I can say with all due respect...blow it out your sphincter.

I think the man has more to his voice than you will ever know...I know Lora and Cyndy have heard him and they say he sounds great. I will gladly take their word for it...those two ladies have great taste in music, and they are quite honest when it comes down to what they think about it.

I also fully trust Andrew...don't argue with the IMPERIAL WOMBAT!

Hey, I would not only like to blow it out of my sphincter, but I would blow it completely all through my anus region, through my intestines and out my mouth. I don't care if the messiah himself says he sounds good. He should sound good, he's on a 15 year hiatus for fucks sake. I'm well aware Perry doesn't have a hole in his throat. Point blank, words do nothing for me anymore. It's either hear from him before he croaks or he's toast. One or the other. This clip sounds absolutley stunning. But it's still 1993 and we're talking about a ginormous prima donna. He's completely irrelevant in 2012 and that's an understatement.

It lacks balls. Agreed on the vocals, but Lost Angels is unique among Perry tracks in that it actually rocks. If you want a Perry track that has great vocals, a haunting melody, and some measure of balls, listen to Let Go.

I wouldn't classify Let Go as haunting. I like it, but it's very mid tempo soft rock. But Rock music doesn't need to be so one dimensional for me to enjoy it (the balls you're referring to  ). I think this song has balls, in a different way. It's a powerful tune. Great melody. Great moody cinematics in the instrumentals and a powerful story-infused emotional delivery by Perry. That vocal just punches you in the chest. Is it something you're going to want to cruise down the highway with? No, but does it have to be to be a good song? No. It's different. Not all music should be the same thing over and over again and I think he and Wagner hit the mark with this one. Shame it wasn't finished. Just my 2 cents --

Hey all,

I tried to go onto Don's site to download the track, but it had reached its maximum allowances / listens, etc. The site expired or something ...

I would greatly appreciate if someone could please email me an MP3 file of this track, along with Lost Angels, if they have it ... I'd love to hear these two, along with Let Go ...

If you have the tracks digitally, and are able to share with me, please send me a PM email here, and I'll share my personal email with you to share them, via email ...

Thank you very much in advance ...

Best Regards,

Michael G.

:?

meh...

In the words of American Idol judge, and former band member (sort of): this was just a'ight for me. Don't get me wrong. My Loon credentials are above reproach, and as such it's nice to hear something "new", but really?

This just never really jumped off for me. I was waiting for Perry to put some stank on it, and it just never happened.

Still, it's nice to hear something I hadn't heard before. :D

No, that was back in the 90s. All unreleased.

Yes, I remember hearing about that, but I thought I read something about a revisiting of their collaboration in more recent years though (also unreleased). Do you (or anyone else) know what I'm talking about?

Yes, I have heard the same...on these forums over the years.

WOW....stunning....the power in his voice!!! I like this song better than anything on FTLOSM. Too short, but otherwise, doesn't sound like a demo at all.
Very polished and pristine. Better than Lost Angels, Somewhere, Let Go, and the songs from OTW. Why has this song been kept secret for so long????

The keys and guitar....very Journey-like....love this song!!!! If this is the very last song we get to hear from SP (albeit, a bootleg), I'm happy.

Someone else sang this originally. I heard that version. As you can imagine, Perry's version is waaaaay better. I wish I had the link to the other guy that sang it. I'll see if I can find it.

I didn't catch this until now...but there were TWO Nuno rumors. The first was that he was to have a song on FTLOSM. It was written and recorded but was not included on the album. This pissed Nuno off and he was vocal about it in various interviews from that time.

Nuno/Perry were also rumored to be working together around 2007. Don't know how far that went.

Rick...from your link, if you click on DickWagnerRadio (the 4th line down), you can hear the whole song. Don't know who the singer is; but, you're right....BIG difference.

Take Faithfully, for example. JC has gotten so much credit having written the song...but would it have been such a classic had SP not put his personal (vocal) stamp on it???

Yes, that's what has been circulated here. Although, I personally have not read the Nuno interviews (circa FTLOSM) that he is pissed his collaborations were left off the album. I did come across the later collaboration that Nuno said he wrote something? with Steve...but, alas, nothing seemed to have come of that, either. So, who knows what the deal is?

:D I thought, to be fair, we have to give more than a 30-sec listen before passing judgment. But, I did give up halfway through :? :) ... that SP, hard man to follow.
